大起水產 迴轉壽司 道頓堀店

3.5

AI Spot Summary

The quality and taste of the sushi are satisfying, especially the seared tuna and seared flounder, which bring happiness. The tuna, flounder, scallops, and salmon are all delicious, but the mackerel and eel have a slight fishy smell.

The Dotonbori store is located on a bustling street, with a huge fish sign that attracts a lot of people. Even if it looks like there's a line, the turnover rate is high and customers can get in quickly.

【Foodholic Naoko @ Osaka, Japan】

"Dai Ki Suisan Conveyor Sushi" has many branches. We ate at the Dotonbori branch located on the bustling Dotonbori street, which has a giant fish at the entrance. There were a lot of people coming and going, and it looked like there might be a line during peak dining hours on the weekend, but we got in fairly quickly; the table turnover rate is very high.

The last time I ate there was in 2016, and I had a very good impression back then. I felt that this was what sashimi sushi should taste like. Perhaps it was because I had just started working and hadn’t tasted much Japanese cuisine; the sushi I often ate was only from Sushi Zanmai 😂.

In 2025, I returned to Osaka after a long time and thought of Dai Ki Suisan, wanting to relive the experience and see if I was just young and naive back then or if I had a travel filter on.

First, I'll share the conclusion from my revisit: although it wasn't breathtaking, I still thought it was delicious. However, I felt that the prices were higher than I remembered from my previous visit.

This time, I really enjoyed the tuna, flounder, scallop, and salmon. Whether eaten raw or seared, they were all great, especially the "seared bluefin tuna belly" and "seared flounder fin meat." Eating those made me incredibly happy.

The items I thought were just okay were the mackerel and eel, especially the mackerel, which had a bit of a fishy taste that I didn’t really enjoy.

If I come to Kansai again in the future and want sushi, I would still be willing to revisit Dai Ki Suisan.
