The meatballs here have thin skins and lots of filling, making for an excellent texture. Paired with southern-style rice cakes and medicinal soup, they leave a lasting impression and are very delicious. The rice cakes have a nice flavor, with a sweet and savory sauce, and the glutinous rice is steamed just right, with the fatty meat pieces being very aromatic.
The use of Styrofoam bowls for takeout utensils is concerning and needs improvement.
"Perfect Rice Cake" — Delicious, but the foam bowl is a bit concerning
I’ve had it once before, and this time I returned to savor it again, finding that the taste is still quite good, but the takeaway utensils really detract from the experience. First, let's talk about the food itself. The flavor of the rice cake is nice, with a sauce that has a hint of sweetness, and the glutinous rice is steamed just right—not too hard, nor too sticky. The highlight is the chunks of fatty meat inside, which are sinfully delicious; the aroma of the fat gives me a sense of guilt, but it’s truly fragrant.
The meatballs performed well too, with a chewy skin, and the filling is seasoned just right—not overly salty. The meat soup comes with a generous amount of ingredients; the broth is slightly sweet but not cloying, going down smoothly, and the whole bowl is filled with meat, feeling more substantial than many other places' meat soups.
However, here’s the issue: the takeaway utensils are made of foam, the kind that sheds little flakes… which is quite unsettling. What year is it? This material has long been deemed unhealthy, yet it’s still being used here, making me feel a bit anxious while eating.
Overall, the flavor is indeed very good, especially recommending the rice cake and meat soup, with the chili sauce adding extra points. But the issue with the takeaway bowl really needs to be improved.
This is my favorite breakfast restaurant. My breakfast basically consists of three meatballs, a bowl of millet cakes, and a bowl of Sishen soup. The meatballs are thin and meaty. They are my favorite. Rice cakes are My favorite southern rice cake is glutinous rice topped with minced pork, cucumbers and a layer of fish floss on top. This is the southern rice cake, so delicious😋.
