The meal exceeded expectations; the pairing of black coffee with French chestnut cheese Mont Blanc was excellent. The oolong milk tea was astonishing, with a rich tea aroma, and the overall flavor was balanced and exquisite.
The café is located in a historic old house, with an artistic and rustic atmosphere, making it suitable for quietly enjoying afternoon tea.
The 104-year-old building proudly displays traces of history in front of everyone, and it absolutely cannot be described as old and worn. It is a work of art that cannot be replicated in this era. Here, you can leisurely browse many of Taiwan's ancient books or quietly enjoy afternoon tea. ☕️ If you happen to visit Gushan, I highly recommend taking a stroll here. The café is on the second floor, and there are plenty of seats. The prices for food and drinks are quite approachable. This time, the dining experience exceeded expectations, offering delicate flavors that differ from those of other cafés—very refined!
✐ Black Coffee / Pour-over Coffee · French Chestnut Cheese Mont Blanc $250
Since I'm not a coffee expert, I can't comment on the value of their pour-over process. I can only describe it as smooth and pleasant to drink. As for the cheese Mont Blanc, it's a must-try. Chestnut desserts are quite popular lately, and the chestnut flavor in this Mont Blanc is rich and delicate. It includes a piece of cheesecake, and it’s recommended to let it sit at room temperature for a while and eat it after it's thawed for the best balance of flavors. When paired with coffee, it's a wonderful afternoon tea combo.
✐ Oolong Milk Tea (I) $140
It's probably the most sincere oolong milk tea I've had so far. I took a sip and my eyes widened. After my friend tried it, we both agreed that the oolong milk tea here is of high quality, with excellent oolong quality! The first sip is slightly sweet, and then it becomes just right (likely because the sugar settles at the bottom). The aroma of the tea is pervasive.
