The quality of the meals is excellent, and the flavors are unique. I recommend the smoked salmon special egg salad on toasted English muffin and the Japanese mentaiko pasta. The caramel crispy cream pancakes are also very popular. The latte has a stronger coffee flavor, which may not be suitable for customers who prefer a heavier milk taste.
The store has a cute style, and the decor design conveys a pleasant atmosphere that makes people feel relaxed. It is suitable for visiting with friends.
The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, but since there is only one person working in the kitchen, the wait time for meals can be longer when there are more customers, so patience is required.
Foodholic Niko @ Taipei
To sum it up: I stumbled upon a treasure of a café again. The whole store has a cute style, and while the latte is just okay, the savory dishes and desserts are delicious—highly recommended!
“GOOD DAY CAFE by mrs inkolize” is located near Taipei Main Station, just a 3-minute walk from the Taipei City Mall, hidden in a quiet alley. I happened to pass by before and really liked the decor of the shop, so I quietly added it to my must-visit list.
You can make a reservation online through the link provided by their official LINE account. It's relatively easy to book on weekdays at noon, but on weekends, I heard it gets busier.
The basic minimum spend for dining in is one drink; there’s no time limit on weekdays, but on weekends, it’s limited to two hours. However, if there are no other customers waiting, the time can be extended.
This café is run by a couple from Hong Kong and also serves as a silk printing studio. In addition to displaying and selling silk printing products, you can also sign up for silk printing classes!
Smoked Salmon Special Egg Salad with Grilled English Muffin $330
The salad is simply dressed with a refreshing oil and vinegar dressing, and the lettuce is fresh. Both muffins are spread with cream cheese, which I think adds a lot! One piece is topped with avocado and a generous amount of smoked salmon, super plentiful and quite tasty; the other piece has thin slices of cucumber smeared with a generous amount of special egg salad and some salmon roe. The egg salad paired with cream cheese is super delicious, and I felt unsatisfied after finishing it!
Japanese Mentaiko Pasta + Hokkaido Raw Scallops $330
The mentaiko sauce is super rich and tightly clings to the pasta, paired with shredded nori on top, making it tasty enough on its own. The only downside is the portion is a bit small; it would be nice if they offered extra noodles! The raw scallops are grilled nicely, and overall, it’s good but nothing extraordinary.
Caramel Crunchy Cream Pancakes (Regular Size) $260
They are thin, savory butter pancakes (similar to McDonald's breakfast pancakes), topped with an explosion of whipped cream and caramel crunch pieces. I personally think the pancakes with whipped cream are great, but adding the caramel crunch makes it a bit too sweet, so I pushed the caramel to the side, while I devoured all the whipped cream.
Hot Latte $150 (If you order a main dish, you can get $20 off the drink)
The portion is okay, and it leans towards a stronger, more bitter coffee flavor, which I didn’t really like (I prefer mine with more milk). Next time, I would like to try other drinks; I heard the caramel crunchy iced latte is good.
Overall, the entire shop, from the decor to the food, conveys the message written at the entrance: “TODAY IS A GOOD DAY.” I would like to bring friends here to visit again and enjoy the delicious pasta!
P.S. Because there is only one person in the kitchen, the wait time for meals can be quite long when there are more customers. So please be patient!
This special brunch shop is jointly run by the boss and his wife from Hong Kong. They bravely opened this shop that combines a coffee shop and a silk-printing studio during the epidemic.
Today I ordered garlic fried shrimp and avocado with black truffle mushroom sauce, scrambled eggs, English muffins with lettuce salad, latte, caramel crispy butter muffins and earl gray tea with milk. The name of Lele Chang is actually a very simple brunch. The black truffle is very rich, and the shrimps are fresh and have a rich aroma of being grilled. The waffles are full of caramel and crunchy, very satisfying.
The decoration and design of the store are also very distinctive. The well-lit environment and camping-style seating area provide a comfortable place to enjoy delicious food. In addition, the store also provides rubbing courses, allowing customers to experience the fun of artistic creation while enjoying delicious food.
