"Chai Jin Lai Egg Cake" is about a 7-minute walk from Shuanglian Station, located in Ningxia Night Market, in a very unique spot, next to the elevator in the first building of Ningxia Market, right next to the stall there's actually an elevator, haha. However, it won't be hard to find if you follow Google Maps.

I went to buy it around 9 PM on Saturday, and there were quite a few people waiting. The ordering process is to first look at the menu to decide what flavor you want, then tell the owner your order. After ordering, you'll get a number and then wait for your number to be called to pick up your food.

You can choose to order 3 or 4 pieces of egg cake, but during holiday periods, you can only buy 4 pieces. If you want two flavors, you have to order two servings; you can't mix flavors in one serving of 4 pieces.

I ordered the creamy salted egg yolk ($75) and the brown sugar mochi ($65) (the prices above are for 4 pieces).
Each piece of egg cake is quite sizable, so one person finishing a serving of 4 pieces would actually feel quite full. The edges of the egg cake are cookie-like and crispy, giving it a bit of a Taiwanese crepe feel.

As for these two flavors, to sum up, I highly recommend the creamy salted egg yolk! If I could only choose one flavor, it would definitely be the creamy salted egg yolk!

The salted egg yolk doesn't actually flow out; it's more like a solid salted egg yolk that has a texture similar to milk candy. Although it doesn't ooze out, I really liked it!

As for the brown sugar mochi, it was a bit different from what I expected. I thought it would be "brown sugar + mochi," but it actually tasted more like "mochi with brown sugar flavor." It was sweet and chewy, but personally, I found it average, so next time I probably wouldn't order this flavor.
