Dickson's Fooday food review is updated!
This time it's still a Hualien special!
This time we came to -
A no-menu Hakka cuisine in the countryside of Hualien 😧
Since it was a bit late,
A group of friends found that the restaurants they originally planned to go to were closing (The people of Hualien sleep too early!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Fortunately, there was a no-menu Hakka restaurant nearby with decent reviews,
So we decided to try it out!

The restaurant has a very traditional Hakka architectural atmosphere.
The design of the Sanhe courtyard is right in front of us.
Later, when chatting with the owner, he mentioned that it's called 'Four Generations of Farming' because they are currently in the fourth generation!
And every additional generation builds a new room~~
I see the fifth generation isn't too far away!
(Wow, such a big move—add a room for each generation)
The owner first led us into one of the rooms,
And the interior indeed has a very nostalgic Hakka style.
In the middle, there's a long table,
With many traditional Hakka farming implements arranged beside it.
As a Hakka descendant,
I have some understanding of Hakka decorations.
The long table in the middle
Is reminiscent of the New Year meals in my hometown when I was a child,
Everyone gathers around the long table for the reunion dinner.
They’ve captured this feeling quite well,
Including the slightly dim little room
And the not-so-cold air conditioning (??
Despite it being November, everyone was still sweating while eating.
When we inquired the owner, we found out that they didn’t know how to adjust the air conditioning 🤣🤣🤣
Until we randomly pressed buttons on the air conditioning
And inadvertently made it too cold 😂😂😂
In terms of food, it leans more towards home-cooked dishes,
There isn't anything extravagant or particularly unique.
These are indeed common Hakka dishes,
Just like having dinner at someone's house 🤣🤣
But maybe because I'm Hakka myself,
These dishes don't feel novel to me,
They're very similar to the meals I would have at home every evening.
Overall, the meal was quite acceptable—
If you seldom eat Hakka food,
It should be quite a novel experience!
As for the environment and atmosphere, it's subjective,
After all, it has that feeling of dining in a small countryside room from 30 years ago.

If you want to take a girl to experience authentic Hakka life,
You definitely need to bring her here!!!
How Hakka can it be! What is truly Hakka
Let her savor the strength of the Hakka people!
Starting with energy-saving measures, including the dimly lit little room
And the not-so-cool air conditioning,
Let the girl begin to appreciate the feeling of being Hakka!
The value of electricity and how to become an energy-saving hero!
If she can understand and accept this Hakka vibe,
Then it would be easy! At least she knows she’s willing to save
Willing to endure a bit,
Not princess syndrome!!!
Using this to screen for princess syndrome seems like a valid method!
See there, it’s sometimes necessary to give the girl some challenges
To probe her depths! This way, we can know if it’s good to get along, right?
We’ll use this Hakka eatery and Hakka environment
To test her a bit~!
