The food was neither good nor bad, but the dipping soba with shrimp tempura was rated as very hot and delicious. The duck nanban soba is light and has a unique flavor highlighted by a strong citrus aroma.
The store has many regular customers and a wide range of clientele. The owner has a wonderful smile and creates a comfortable atmosphere.
The service was a bit disappointing, especially with the female staff who were unfriendly and reportedly did not speak during the checkout.
I visited with high expectations for the TOP5000, which has a rating of 3.7. I entered without waiting (around 6 PM on a weekday). There were about four customers ahead of me in the restaurant, all of whom seemed to be regulars. The clientele ranged widely from small children to adults. The chef was young and had a wonderful smile, but the female staff member who seemed to be a part-timer was a bit unfriendly, even placing the receipt silently at the time of payment, which was a bit disappointing. The taste was quite average, neither good nor bad, and I likely won’t repeat my visit.

Tsuketen Soba (with a warm dipping sauce and two shrimp tempura) - ¥1900
Additional seiro (cold soba) - ¥900
Kamo Nanban Soba (with fried mochi) - ¥2000
Tsuketen Soba:
It was piping hot and the shrimp was delicious! The dipping sauce was thick and quite tasty. The portion was enough for a woman to finish easily. If you order the seiro as an additional item, the dipping sauce can cool down and lose its flavor, so it seems better to ask for a larger portion from the start. For a man, it might not be enough. The man sitting next to me ordered two seiro.
Kamo Nanban Soba:
This one was very light and different from other Kamo Nanban Sobas. If you expect a slightly richer Kamo Nanban Soba, it may feel a bit different. The aroma of yuzu was quite strong and distinctive. It seemed like a broth that could be used for ramen.
