I visited 'BUTTER MILK CHANNEL,' where you can enjoy popular NY lunches in Japan!

The owner, Doug Crowell, is a true New Yorker. He was born and raised in New York, graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, and after training as a chef in various restaurants, he opened the flagship Butter Milk Channel, a casual American bistro, in 2008 in the historic borough of Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn flagship is a small restaurant with about 50 seats located in a corner of Carroll Gardens, known for its brownstone buildings typical of New York. Loved by everyone from young people to families living in Brooklyn, it serves as a gathering place for friends and locals. It is versatile enough for family dinners early on, romantic dates at night, celebrations lasting until late, and hangover brunches the next day, attracting not only local residents but also food enthusiasts and celebrities from Manhattan. You can enjoy American comfort food that brings warmth and satisfaction!

What is "buttermilk"?
"Buttermilk," which inspired the store's name, is a liquid made by removing the fat from cream, essential in American home cooking. It is a rare treat in Japan, low in fat and calories, yet rich in nutrients. The lactic acid bacteria contained inside tenderizes the ingredients, characterized by buttermilk's unique richness and smoothness.

The bone-in chicken marinated in buttermilk for two days was tender and juicy. Additionally, the coating is double-fried, giving it a crispy texture outside! It comes with a sweet and sour maple syrup to pour over the fragrant cheddar cheese waffle, creating the perfect sweet and savory combination.

【Eggs Benedict Brooklyn Style】
The homemade buttermilk biscuit is crispy outside and moist inside, paired wonderfully with prosciutto and a soft poached egg, topped with a creamy, rich hollandaise sauce. Breaking the soft egg and dipping the biscuit into it is simply irresistible!

The interior features spacious and comfortable sofa seating, making it very popular for lunch gatherings with mothers and children. You can enjoy a leisurely meal in a stylish space crafted with attention to detail.
