The dishes at the new Southeast Tingzhou store are diverse, with the red crab rice cake and miso soup performing exceptionally well. The seafood, such as soft-shell crab and seven-star grouper, is fresh and delicious, while the peanut fried dumplings make for a perfect ending.
The restaurant is located around the botanical garden, with a lively atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for gatherings. It often has full occupancy, reflecting its stable position in the market.
The staff are friendly and able to provide suggestions, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The New Southeast Tingshou store has always been a highly popular representative among seafood restaurants in Taipei, located near the Botanical Garden. Whether on weekdays or weekends, it is almost always fully booked. On the day of dining, there were many people on-site, creating a lively atmosphere that reflects its stable position in the dining market.
The signature Red Crab Rice Cake performed well. The rice cake is moist and absorbs the crab roe and sauce, resulting in a rich flavor. The meat of the red crab is fresh and sweet, making it a satisfying staple that pairs well with the other dishes.
The Miso Soup serves as a warming dish; the broth is smooth, and with the addition of fried dough sticks and tofu, it enhances the texture. The inclusion of sturgeon adds umami, maintaining a stable performance.
In terms of seafood, the Soft-Shell Crab is fried to a crisp without being oily, showcasing high overall quality; the Seven-Star Grouper has tender meat and good freshness, making it a standout dish. The shrimp is also quite fresh, with excellent resilience. It is simply seasoned yet allows the quality of the ingredients to shine.
Among the vegetables, the asparagus was average, cooked normally but lacking highlights; in contrast, the cabbage was stir-fried to a sweet and refreshing flavor, serving as an important balance to the seafood's oiliness. The Three-Cup Squid is fragrant, with sufficient basil and sauce flavor, but the texture is somewhat tough, leading to a heavier chew, which is a bit unfortunate.
For dessert, the Fried Peanut Tangyuan is a good ending, with a crispy exterior and a rich peanut filling at a moderate sweetness, making for a pleasant conclusion to the meal.
Overall, the New Southeast Tingshou store maintains the basic standards of a high-level seafood restaurant, with a diverse menu and stable ingredient quality. Although some items may have slight discrepancies in texture, the overall dining experience remains appealing, making it a suitable choice for sharing seafood dishes among multiple people.
