The瓦城 offers a variety of Thai dishes, with moonlight shrimp cakes, curry chicken, and lemon fish performing excellently. The green papaya salad is appetizing, and the golden soft-shell crab is delicious but somewhat pricey. Some dishes have smaller portions, so it's necessary to order a few more to satisfy a larger group meal.
The restaurant environment is lively and somewhat noisy, but the atmosphere is bright and comfortable, making it suitable for family dinners or gatherings with friends.
The overall service attitude is quite good, the reservation process is convenient, and the staff are friendly.
Located on the seventh floor of the Hsinchu Big City, Watertown has long been a popular choice for families and friends looking for Thai cuisine. Although the environment tends to be lively and a bit noisy, this is a common occurrence in the bustling Big City shopping mall, and the overall dining atmosphere is relatively bright and comfortable. Watertown offers a variety of dishes, from the classic green papaya salad to curries, seafood dishes, and desserts, making it a convenient choice for guests wanting to satisfy various Thai flavors all in one go.
This time, we ordered the "Original Green Papaya Salad," which was very appetizing. The shredded green papaya was crispy, paired with dried shrimp, peanuts, and tomatoes, and had a balance of sour, spicy, sweet, and salty flavors, with a refreshing and slightly spicy overall seasoning that went very well with rice.
The "Cabbage," although stir-fried to a fragrant and crisp texture, had a relatively small portion, which felt a bit lacking for the price.
Watertown's "Original Moon Cake" is almost a must-order at every table. The pastry was crispy, and the filling was packed with shrimp, delivering a strong umami flavor, enhanced by the dipping sauce. It truly lives up to its reputation as a popular signature dish 🌙.
The "Thai Curry Chicken" also performed excellently; the curry was rich and smooth, with the warmth of coconut milk, and the chicken was tender enough to separate from the bones, making it perfect with rice. Although we ordered a large portion, it still felt slightly insufficient, leaving us wanting more.
The "Thai Golden Sand Soft-Shell Crab" was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, featuring a delightful combination of salted egg and crab meat. However, the price was rather high, making it seem a bit expensive 🦀.
The "Chef's BBQ Matsusaka Pork" offered a strong flavor with a sweet and salty seasoning that paired well with rice.
The "Lemon Steamed Fish" had fresh and delicate fish meat with a strong sour and fragrant taste, epitomizing the Thai flavor that was both refreshing and appetizing 🐟.
The "Spicy Stir-Fried Clams" had decent sauce performance, but unfortunately, some shells were not opened, and the fullness of the clams was a bit lacking, which slightly affected the overall presentation.
On the dessert side, the "Taro Black Glutinous Rice" was served hot, with a strong taro aroma and a sticky texture from the black glutinous rice, making it delicious!
The "Coconut Sago" and "Mango Sticky Rice" offered a refreshing sweetness without being overly rich, with abundant ingredients, making them perfect for a sweet finish.
Overall, Watertown maintains a stable presentation of classic Thai dishes, especially the moon shrimp cake, curry chicken, and lemon fish, which performed excellently and are definitely must-orders. However, many dishes generally have smaller portions, and prices aren't cheap, so if dining with a larger group, you may need to order several dishes to feel full. Although there are minor flaws in detail, it remains a restaurant that guarantees Thai flavors and is suitable for gatherings.
First time eating at Jade City
I made a reservation for dinner on Sunday, and surprisingly, there were seats available!
I think the overall service attitude this time was okay.
🌛 Shrimp Paste Crispy Cake
So delicious!
The filling inside is packed with shrimp, really great! 😋
✅ Green Curry Coconut Chicken
Not bad, the flavor is really fragrant.
However, I think the ingredients and meat inside are a bit lacking.
🐷 Northern Thai Style Spicy Marinated Matsusaka Pork
I think the Matsusaka pork is quite ordinary, and the portion is really small!!
But my friend thinks it's not bad.
🌽 Crab Meat Corn Soup
The soup is quite good,
the crab meat and corn kernels are plentiful.
🥬 Shrimp Paste Cabbage
I wouldn't recommend this one.
I don't think it has much shrimp paste flavor…
If simply treated as cabbage, it's fine. 😂
🍚 Rice $45/person
Three types of rice to choose from, free refills.
🍮 Momo Chacha
If you join their membership, you'll receive a dessert voucher.
I think one portion is just right for two people.
It's a nice after-meal dessert.👌

113/2/7 (Wednesday) Dinner in the evening
Because I decided to visit Jucheng on the spur of the moment, I didn’t make a special reservation.
Went to Wacheng to register and wait for a table at 18:40. We were seated at 19:45. It was very fast.
You can leave during the waiting period and come back within 10 minutes after receiving the text message.
My friends and I have always been big fans of Wa City.
But this experience was truly the worst ever
It also made me silently decide not to come to Wa City again (what a tongue twister?)
This one star should be given to Wa Cheng’s Moon Shrimp Cake.

In addition, the one at the next table is even more exaggerated.
Just after ordering and waiting for the food to be served, the service staff took away the entire bucket of rice.
As a result, we were asked by customers why our food was taken away.
The reason given was "Sorry, I thought you were full."
Do you really not understand the need to rush like this? They haven't even eaten yet = =
🍴Dining experience🍴:
Thai milk tea (ice)
I drink Thai milk every time I come here. Currently, the Thai milk in other Thai restaurants outside is not as delicious as the one in Wa City.
The sweetness of condensed milk and the aroma of black tea blend together and it tastes very sweet (Ant-Man’s favorite)
If you don't like it so sweet, you can ask the service staff to adjust the amount of condensed milk.
If it's not sweet enough, I'll bring you another cup of syrup to add it to your taste.
Conclusion: 🌟5/5, super sweet Thai milk, full of aroma
Thai milk tea (ginger is good and hot)
Winter-only Ginger Thai Milk. The spiciness of ginger and the aroma of Thai milk blend well together.
Not particularly spicy
Instead, it has a unique taste that tastes very smooth and very stomach-warming.
Conclusion: 🌟5/5, limited time only, not spicy ginger, you can try it
Spicy stir-fried beef
In addition to beef, there are also tomato slices, nine-layer pagoda, and chili.
It’s an average spicy stir-fried beef.
But today's dish is different from the past. There are a lot of tomatoes, so points will be deducted.
The acidity of spicy stir-fried beef is mainly based on tomatoes
The beef is fried very delicious
It’s a special dish to go with rice
Conclusion: 🌟3/5, very delicious, but a bit too much tomato
Water spinach with shrimp paste
Shrimp paste is a saltier shrimp paste
Overall, it's very oily.
The portion size is about the same as before
But usually I prefer spicy stir-fried water spinach.
Conclusion: 🌟4/5, oilier and saltier water spinach
5.Original Moon
The moon shrimp cake is a must-try when visiting Wa City, highly recommended
Fried without oil and crispy
With the addition of plum sauce (?) and sour sauce (?) in the middle, it tastes sweet and sour.
I didn’t dare to eat shrimps, so I showed off a lot of them.
Because it doesn’t taste like shrimp at all!!
Conclusion: 🌟5/5, a must-order dish, chewy and delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside
7.Momo chatter
This is my second time eating Momo Cha Cha dessert.
It contains coconut milk, taro balls (pieces), sago, bean paste, 1 frozen lychee and red pulp (?) and other ingredients
The aroma of coconut milk dominates the taste of other foods
The sago is cooked softly. This is the only good thing about it.
However, the center of the taro balls is completely hard and has a bit of a powdery taste.
It's only cooked but not simmered, so I'm in a hurry to serve it to the guests.
Plus the aforementioned super early desserts
The ice melted into water, making the whole experience terrible. It was like drinking sugar water = =
Conclusion: 🌟1/5, highly recommended^_^
