The Jiangsu and Zhejiang dim sum and Shanghai cuisine offered by the restaurant are very delicious. The sweet and sour fish fillet, typhoon shelter shrimp, and kung pao chicken are particularly popular. The filling of the soup dumplings is generous but the taste is ordinary, while the rose buns are sweet and amazing. Overall, the variety of dishes is rich and satisfying.
The restaurant decor is elegant, suitable for diners of all ages, providing a comfortable dining environment. The dining environment at the Taichung branch is clean, with a comfortable sense of space and atmosphere, and the air conditioning is very cool.
The service staff was very attentive, thoughtfully helping to cut the dessert for easy sharing, making one feel the friendly and professional attitude of the service.
When I arrived at the restaurant, I wasn't very hungry. After ordering a two-person set, I also ordered a portion of soup dumplings, stinky tofu, red bean buns, and rose buns, and the amount was just right.
I quite liked the taste of the sweet and sour fish fillet and the Typhoon shelter shrimp. The Kung Pao chicken was very good with rice. The stinky tofu looked light but had quite a strong flavor and a notable stench. I was lucky to find cabbage among the seasonal vegetables, which is one of the few greens I enjoy.
The Song嫂 fish soup was okay, but since I'm not a fan of soups, I didn't have any particular thoughts about it. The soup dumplings were quite large and the filling felt satisfying, but in terms of flavor, I still prefer those from Din Tai Fung.
Lastly, for dessert, the red bean big bun and rose bun were thoughtfully cut by the staff for easy sharing. The flavor of the rose bun really amazed me. At first, I couldn't imagine what rose sauce would taste like when ordering, but although it was quite sweet, it tasted really good.
Compared to the original store on Taiwan Boulevard, the dining environment at laLaport Taichung is cleaner, has a more spacious feel, and a more comfortable atmosphere. The air conditioning is also sufficiently cool. Although there are slight differences in the menu items, the tastes are not too far apart. The original store’s black tea is richer and more robust, while the one at the Taichung store is much milder; however, this does not affect my pleasant dining experience.
Qinyuanchun|Founded in 1949, classic and delicious, the first choice for Jiangsu and Zhejiang dim sum and delicious Shanghai cuisine
Originating from the Jiang family in Wuxi, it inherits the characteristics of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai cuisine.
Most of the meals are delicious, but personally I think the xiaolongbao is a bit ordinary, but maybe it’s because of the different cuisines and the taste is different from what I’m used to.
