Located in Chenggong Township, Taitung, "Chenggong Seaside Bank" is a uniquely distinctive restaurant that was originally the Taiwan Land Bank. After a clever transformation, it retains the original architectural style while blending local culture and cuisine.

The restaurant features two signature sets: the "Sea Women Intertidal Zone Set" and the "Captain's Wave Top Set," each showcasing the lifestyles of the Amis tribe's sea women and fishermen. The "Sea Women Intertidal Zone Set" features a smoked flying fish soup base served with white noodles; the broth is refreshing with a subtle smoky aroma, accompanied by pickled shellfish and cold seaweed salad, highlighting the rich flavors of the intertidal zone. The "Captain's Wave Top Set," on the other hand, consists of a tomato and celery soup base served with fresh fish. The broth is rich, and the fish is fresh, accompanied by grilled swordfish sashimi, peanut tofu, and seaweed, providing a rich texture.

The interior design of the restaurant blends history with modernity, preserving elements of the original bank and including an exhibition space that introduces local artisans' lives and culture. The dining environment is comfortable, and the service is friendly, making it an excellent venue to savor local culture and cuisine. I highly recommend trying it if you visit Chenggong. Although the price point is on the higher side, it offers a corresponding experience and value.
