The taste of the pancake burger is familiar and satisfying in both sweet and savory flavors. The hash browns are a bit greasy, but they go well with the pancake burger. The portion size of the salad is pleasantly surprising, helping to lighten the greasy feeling. The chicken nuggets are average in taste, and I prefer the version from Taiwan.
The restaurant is located at Karasuma Gojo in Kyoto, and it feels warm and comfortable when you enter in the morning.
The self-service ordering machine is convenient, and there are restrooms in the store to enhance convenience.
Reviewer of the braces: There is a restroom
This time I visited the McDonald's at Karasuma Gojo in Kyoto, which is about a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The mornings in Kyoto are quite cold, and walking into the store gave me a feeling of instant relief. This location also has self-service ordering machines, making it considerably easier to order.
We ordered:
• McGriddles Sausage & Egg × 3
• Hash Potato × 3
• Side Salad × 3
• Chicken McNuggets (5 pieces) × 1
The McGriddles still have that familiar sweet and savory taste, and having it once in a while still satisfies. The hash browns are also quite greasy, but they pair nicely with the McGriddles. The portion of the salad still surprises me; it helps alleviate the greasiness a bit when eaten together. The chicken nuggets felt about the same as last time, but I still think the ones in Taiwan taste better.

Why eat McDonald's in Japan?
I usually don’t eat at chain restaurants that are also in Taiwan when I travel abroad, but since I missed out on the limited-time pancake sandwich when it was released in Taiwan, I was determined to try the breakfast item that is commonly found at McDonald's in Japan this time!
This McDonald's is located near Gojo Station and has two floors. The first floor has several self-service ordering machines, which can be switched to English, making it easy to use; the seating area is on the second floor, but there aren’t many seats available. It’s advisable to go upstairs first to check for available seats before ordering on the first floor.
P.S. When I went upstairs, I heard a lot of Chinese and realized that many customers were Taiwanese, instantly giving me the illusion of being back in Taiwan, haha.
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pancake Sandwich / Pork, Egg, and Cheese Pancake Sandwich ¥350 (a la carte) ¥580 (set)
To get to the conclusion first: the pancake sandwich is so delicious!!! If this became a regular breakfast item in Taiwan, I would probably abandon muffin sandwiches forever.
The pancakes themselves are very soft; although there isn’t a lot of syrup, you can still taste the sweetness. Paired with the savory flavor of the pork or bacon, the sweet and savory combination is delightful! Plus, the pancake sandwich is quite large, so even just having this for breakfast is very filling!
The pork egg pancake sandwich is tastier than the bacon egg and cheese pancake sandwich, but that’s a matter of personal taste; it really depends on what type of main dish you prefer.
However, I should mention the breakfast milk tea at McDonald's Japan; we got both hot and iced versions which were a bit disappointing. The hot one comes with a cup of hot water, and you add the tea bag and creamer yourself, while the iced one is a cup filled with crushed ice and unsweetened black tea, and you add the creamer yourself.
My impression is that it tastes very watery and isn’t good at all!
