The roasted wheat tea presents the aroma of rice and the sweetness of grains, pairing refreshingly with the tea-flavored plum jelly. Its unique taste satisfies the expectation for grain flavors.
The store is filled with a youthful and vibrant atmosphere, suitable for customers who enjoy trendy and innovative dining experiences.
Shanbei Zhongxiao Dunhua store is located in an alley near Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, about a three-minute walk from the metro station.
What sets this Shanbei apart from other locations is that it operates in combination with Yuan Tang Hot Pot, though the hot pot restaurant is still under renovation, so enjoying both together may take a bit longer.
Today, I had the roasted barley tea with tea plum jelly, priced at 65 NT dollars.
Roasted Barley Tea:
One of Shanbei's great features is their careful classification of tea products based on the different processes of tea leaves, divided into light, medium, and dark roasting. However, they still offer a caffeine-free beverage series, and roasted barley tea falls into this category.
In terms of grain flavor, I find this cup performs better than the barley tea from Bayao and the grain soup; the rice aroma and sweet grain taste are well presented in the cup. The tea plum jelly is delicious on its own, with the sour plum stimulating the taste buds and providing a very refreshing feeling, although the combination with the grain is somewhat subtle, but that's more about my personal choice.
Overall, this is a youthful and vibrant chain store. Shanbei was established in 2019, making it still a relatively young brand. It will be interesting to see what kind of results this collaboration between Zhongxiao Dunhua and the hot pot shop will bring.
I recommend it to everyone.
