However, there was one drawback to the donburi I tasted this time: after finishing the main course, the remaining rice and sauce may have tasted monotonous due to the portion size. Shindon is a Japanese rice bowl specialty store with more than 25 kinds of rice bowl options. Even if you come here to eat every day for a whole month, you will almost never get the same item!

This rice bowl restaurant is located opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art, within a 10-minute walk from Zhongshan Station and Taipei Main Station. It has been open for a long time, at least more than 10 years, but the last time I ate there was probably 7.8 years ago.

There are quite a few seats in the store, so it shouldn't be a problem to seat 30 people. However, every time dinner time passes, it is almost full. Because the business is good, I have to wait about 10 minutes for the food to be served after ordering.

Unbeatable fried pork cutlet bowl $180
The fried pork chop is super thick, and when paired with the equally huge amount of egg white rice, it tastes very filling!
The attached dipping sauce is the common tonkatsu sauce, but it’s a little clearer and not so thick.
The skin of the pork chop is fried very crispy, but at the same time the flour is not too thick, which is not bad, but the meat is relatively solid. Although it tastes good, it is a little dry and does not have much gravy.
There’s nothing special about the smooth egg rice, it tastes pretty average.

Curry fried chicken donburi $198
There were quite a lot of pieces of fried chicken, 7 pieces in total, but the skin of the fried chicken was a bit thicker, and I personally felt that the taste was slightly inferior to the fried pork chop.
I think the curry rice is pretty bad. It's a yellowish curry, similar to the curry potato side dish that some bento shops come with. It's also a bit watery and watery, which doesn't suit my taste.

Ordering donburi comes with a bowl of miso soup. Isn’t it enough to finish the bowl? Are you a miso soup belly? Don’t worry, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat miso soup here! In addition, free hot barley tea is provided!

The rice bowl also comes with a small plate of salad. It is said to be a salad, but it is actually shredded cabbage drizzled with a little Thousand Island dressing. It tastes a bit bitter and I don’t want to eat it after a few bites.

Overall, the portion is large, and the CP value is really high for this price, but the taste is probably just in the middle. It’s still more of a meal for those who want to eat a full meal. I feel that high school boys will like it very much!
