Onomichi ramen has a refreshing flavor, using pork back fat and a hint of lemon fragrance, making it very palatable. The scallion ramen features a refreshing soy sauce base, filled with the aroma of scallions. The noodles have a chewy texture that leaves a lasting aftertaste.
The restaurant is located by the sea, featuring window-side seats facing the ocean. It has a vintage Chinese culinary decor, and in the evening, you can enjoy the sunset in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
📍 Japan, Onomichi, Hiroshima
Located by the sea | Refreshing-style soy sauce ramen
Onomichi ramen was once one of Japan's top three ramen types, mostly featuring a pork bone soy sauce style. After doing some research, I found that many Taiwanese people consider Onomichi ramen to be saltier than Taiwanese dan dan noodles. 😂
So this time, I specifically looked for a ramen shop known for its lighter flavors to try!
This shop, Spicy Sea, is situated next to the port and has a few seats by the window with a view of the ocean. You can see the sunset in the evening, and the shop even has a back door to step out and enjoy the sunset. 🌇 (Last picture)
The shop's decor has a unique style, giving off a retro Chinese restaurant vibe, having invested tens of millions of New Taiwan dollars in its design.

Ordered items:
🍋 Salted Lemon Ramen (¥950):
Limited to 20 servings a day, using pesticide-free lemons as an ingredient.
The broth is made from pork back fat with a salty flavor.
This soup has a primarily salty taste, making it very refreshing and delicious, completely devoid of the strong flavors typical of Japanese ramen. Combined with the pork back fat and a hint of lemon aroma, it’s really to my taste; I could finish the broth entirely.
🥬 Green Onion Ramen (¥850):
I noticed an old magazine article on the wall from Taiwan, and the interview mentioned that the green onions are hand-grown by the owner's father, so I ordered this item. 😆
It features a refreshing soy sauce base that’s not salty, making it easy to drink. Paired with a generous amount of green onions, it was an extraordinary portion! These onions are thicker and have a distinct aroma, differing from Taiwan's finer green onions, with a slightly spicy kick, which I really enjoyed!
The noodles are slightly thicker with a bit of curl, offering a nice texture and chewiness.

Would I revisit: Yes!
On Friday evening, there weren't many customers, primarily Japanese people, making it a comfortable space with beautiful views and flavors that suit my palate.
The restroom is also very clean!
