The mixed soup noodles have an excellent flavor, the squid balls have a chewy texture, and the shrimp balls are equally impressive. The broth is refreshing and not greasy. The fried large intestine is a specialty of the store, and I was deeply impressed by it during my previous tasting.
The in-store environment is spacious and comfortable, making for an enjoyable dining experience. This is a branch of the Shuanglian main store, located in the bustling Dalongdong area.
The Shuanglian Weng Ji squid soup noodle shop is located on Dalong Street, near Yuanshan MRT Station, Dalongdong Bao'an Temple, and Taipei Confucius Temple. This area is lively during the day as a market and turns into a night market at night.
Today I enjoyed the mixed squid noodles, priced at 110 NT dollars.
Mixed squid noodles:
There are three combinations to choose from: squid, shrimp, and fish crack, of which you can select two. I chose squid and shrimp. The noodles are just regular yellow noodles, with a texture that is perfectly normal for this type of noodle.
The squid has a very chewy texture, and when you bite into the soup, you can feel the fresh squid impacting your mouth. Although the shrimp soup is not the signature dish, its chewiness is not inferior to that of the squid. The soup is very refreshing, with a type of thickening that is not greasy.
The large intestine pancake is a specialty dish of the restaurant; I had a good impression of it before. However, this time I simply wanted to eat noodles more.
Overall, this is a well-known soup noodle branch located in Shuanglian. The environment is much more spacious than the main store, and the dining experience is quite comfortable. If you happen to be passing through the Dalongdong area, it is worth a visit.
