This restaurant offers authentic Malaysian cuisine with a wide variety of dishes and generous portions. The special dishes in the two-person set menu, such as Bak Kut Teh and Penang Char Kway Teow, are aromatic and astonishing in flavor.
The restaurant is located near the Pier-2 Art Center, with a simple and comfortable decor, offering unsweetened tea, which is very considerate. Here is a perfect blend of Taiwanese hospitality and Malaysian soul.
The boss lady is warm and hospitable, making people feel a strong sense of Taiwanese hospitality. The service is attentive and friendly, and it is a pet-friendly restaurant.
A genuine Malaysian restaurant found near the Pier-2 Art Center. The owner is Malaysian, and the dishes are incredibly authentic; the owner's wife is Taiwanese, and her hospitality is top-notch. Overall, it’s a perfect combination of "Taiwanese warmth + Malaysian spirit."
Located right across from Exit 4 of the Yanchengpu MRT Station, there are plenty of seats, the decor is simple and comfortable, and they even offer complimentary unsweetened tea – it's truly considerate.
This time, we ordered the recommended double set meal for $1099, which had generous portions.
🍲 Bak Kut Teh (Pork Rib Soup)
The herbal aroma is very pleasant, and the aftertaste has a hint of sweetness; you can really tell it’s not just instant soup. It even includes pork trotters, which are super tender, and comes with sliced pork and cabbage, and the soup can be refilled endlessly. Amazing!
Hakka Fried Pork
This is somewhat like boneless fried ribs; it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a dipping sesame sauce. Remember to eat it while it's hot, as it becomes harder when cold.
Penang Char Kway Teow (Stir-Fried Rice Noodles)
It has a strong wok hei (breath of the wok), the sauce is slightly sweet, and the aroma hits you right away, making it very appetizing.
Soy Sauce King Shrimp (add-on)
The shrimp portion is generous, with a slight “Bifeng Tang” flavor, mildly spicy and sweet. The shrimp are pre-fried, so you don’t need to peel them too cleanly; eating them directly is even more flavorful.
Stir-Fried Asparagus with Shrimp Balls
This is the only vegetable dish and it’s refreshing, making for a nice balance.
The portion size of the couple’s meal is truly ample, and I felt very satisfied after eating. Plus, it’s pet-friendly🐶. After exploring Pier-2, coming here for a meal is just perfect if you want to try something different in Malaysian cuisine. I highly recommend this place!
