The cocktails at the bar are classic and exquisite. Although there is no menu to choose from, the staff will guide you and introduce various cocktails. While the prices are on the higher side, with each glass costing 400, the quality and flavors are worth trying.
The bar is filled with a quirky style, and the ambiance is unique, reminiscent of Junji Ito. Upon entering, there is a large courtyard that feels surprising; the overall atmosphere is relatively rare in Taitung.
The staff will guide customers in selecting cocktails and provide a detailed introduction to the characteristics of each item, offering attentive and professional service.
The Bug Bar is a hidden gem in Taitung, as it's almost impossible to find any information about it on Google Maps. However, you can find this place on Facebook. The entrance to the bar is actually a small gate, and once you step inside, there's a large courtyard, which might be surprising if it's your first visit.
I personally feel that the style of this bar leans towards the quirky side, as there are indeed artworks related to bugs, and the overall atmosphere has a strangely Ito Junji vibe. Whether you like it or not really depends on personal preference. Such a style is indeed rare in Taitung, but bars like this are quite common in Tainan.
As for the drinks, there is no menu, so the staff will guide you on what drinks to order and introduce the characteristics of their various cocktails. They generally offer classic cocktails or similar drinks; for example, since I like tequila, I chose a cocktail that has tequila as its base (please forgive me for forgetting the name; it's just too hard to remember, and I might have had a bit too much to drink 🤣). The cocktails are all on the refined side, so each drink basically costs around 400.
If you're in Taitung and want to change the bar atmosphere and don't want to stick to KTV places, this place is suitable.
