Recently, there was a widely recommended black truffle pasta on Threads, which turns out to be from a café. I decided to try it out this weekend!

“Oddfish” is a café located in the Minsheng community, surrounded mainly by residential buildings. Passing through the area on the weekend felt very tranquil; the nearest MRT station should be Nanjing Sanmin station, but it takes about 15 minutes on foot to get there.

The space is quite spacious and comfortable, with an atmosphere created by wooden furniture that is very pleasant. They open at 11:30 AM, and we arrived around 11:40 AM on Sunday as the first customers. We were seated without a reservation, and even when we left at 1:00 PM, the place wasn’t completely full yet.

The minimum order is one main course or one drink, and they do not charge a service fee. There is self-serve tap water available, and payment can only be made in cash.

This is considered a vegetarian café, and the dishes provided do not contain meat. Any meal with meat uses future meat; they offer pasta, salads, burgers, desserts, and drinks.

Black Truffle Tagliatelle $418
I specifically came here for this pasta today!
The presentation is quite exquisite, rivaling that of high-end Italian restaurants, and the flavor is no less impressive. On top, there is a generous amount of black truffle sauce, and as soon as I took a bite, the rich aroma of black truffles and mushrooms filled my mouth. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and I would say this is probably the best truffle pasta I’ve had in recent times.
Although the price is slightly high, the taste and portion size make it worthwhile. I left feeling very satisfied!

Hot Latte $160
The staff is quite skilled; the latte art is beautiful, and when it was served, the latte was at the surface tension level, which was very soothing to look at.
However, I personally found the taste to be mediocre; it wasn’t the type of strong milk flavor latte that I enjoy. It’s drinkable but nothing special.

Overall, I would rate the black truffle tagliatelle at 4.5 stars, but since the latte didn’t win my heart and the price is relatively high, I’ll give it 4 stars.
