Nostalgic about the sweet potato balls in the Gongguan shopping district! I used to live nearby and often came to buy them 🤤 And there were usually long lines! I think this place is one of my top favorite shops in my heart. I remember them being really large, a bit airy when you bite into them, and with a moderate thickness of the skin 🥹

This time I bought a large portion - 15 balls for $55. I think the price is not too expensive; it's quite a common price in the Greater Taipei area.

It's been quite a while since I've eaten here. Somehow, I feel the quality has become a bit inconsistent 🤣 Some of the sweet potato balls were fried too much and burned 😭 Also, some of them weren't very uniform in size 😂 I suspect the owner might not have managed the frying time well this time! If you pick the ones that look pretty, are not burnt, and are large, they taste just as good as before~ 😋 But this time, some of the burnt and smaller sweet potato balls didn’t provide the same satisfaction as the larger ones! The airy feeling isn’t quite sufficient when you bite into them.

However, the all-vegetarian sweet potato balls in Gongguan still hold their place in my heart 🤣 I believe it was just a moment of oversight by the owner. Next time I come to the Gongguan shopping district, I will still buy a pack for a satisfying experience! They are still delicious 👍🏻

When you come to Gongguan Night Market, you really can’t miss the sweet potato balls in this one. It takes 15-20 minutes to queue up and it’s always full of people. The freshly fried sweet potato balls are crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside, with the aroma of sweet potatoes. In addition, you can see grandma kneading the sweet potato balls next to you, and you will feel that they are freshly made. They are delicious hot or cold, so you don’t have to worry about them becoming unpalatable when they are cold after being taken away. For 55 a pack (the big one) I will bring 2 packs.
