The meal includes Indian fruit curry sous-vide chicken, the aromatic curry performs well, but the sous-vide chicken is somewhat ordinary. The cake, like the tea-flavored chiffon with cream, tastes great. The caramel egg pudding is rather ordinary.
The restaurant is located in the Zhonglu Special Area of Taoyuan. The environment is charming and spacious, featuring mainly wooden furniture with a fresh style. It is suitable for gatherings and chats with friends, especially ideal for afternoon tea time.
The ordering process in the store requires you to check out at the first-floor counter. The staff is friendly, and the seating area for dining is mainly on the second floor. The minimum consumption requirement is reasonable.
Taoyuan Old House Café is a sister store to Yumiko, Wind and Rain, Youmu, and Wooly (trying to visit them all for collection). I really like their cakes; the cream paired with the tea-flavored chiffon is excellent. The dining area is quite spacious on the second floor, mainly featuring wooden furniture, and I also enjoy the overall fresh style.
This is a pet-friendly café; our dog, Fortune, probably knows she can't eat anything here, so she's very reluctant 😂

Cute little shop in Taoyuan Zhonglu Special District
This meal:
Indian fruit-scented curry sous-vide chicken $290
I initially thought that a Japanese-themed small shop would lean towards a sweet curry, but unexpectedly, it was filled with aromatic spices. The curry was quite good 👍 The sous-vide chicken was more standard; perhaps because the chicken was thinner compared to the sous-vide chicken in many other restaurants, it didn't quite showcase the tenderness expected from sous-vide chicken. The meal came with a small salad 🥗.
Caramel egg pudding $120
The pudding overall was average. I personally prefer a denser pudding texture and enjoy a bit more bitterness in the caramel. The whipped cream on the pudding was on the less sweet side, which just didn't match my taste.
Since I've seen many shares about cakes and desserts from nearby shops, but this time, since I dined during lunchtime, I didn’t have extra stomach space to try more desserts and cakes. If I visit again, I hope to bring friends for afternoon tea to enjoy desserts and chat.
The shop has a minimum consumption requirement of one meal or one drink, so it may not be possible to order just a cake. Most of the seating is on the second floor (there's one table on the first floor). Orders need to be placed at the counter on the first floor for ordering and checkout.
