The Toritotama we tried in the PARCO CITY food street in Okinawa is a Japanese set meal restaurant that specializes in chicken and egg dishes. Later, I found out that this restaurant actually has branches in many department store food streets throughout Japan.

We ordered the Nanban fried chicken set meal, and the side dishes were quite standard: steamed rice, pickles, egg rolls, and of course, the main dish of fried chicken. To highlight, the eggs were really delicious, likely chosen for their good quality, and cooked just right, giving a smooth texture and rich egg flavor. The white rice was also quite good, being that type of Japanese rice that is distinct and slightly sticky, which tastes great just with the eggs and soy sauce. There was also something that seemed to be tea kettle soup, which tasted very fresh and sweet. However, at the moment of writing this food review, I can't remember what kind of soup it was, haha. 😂

As for the star of the show, the Nanban fried chicken, the meat was tender and the outer layer was fried well, but the sauce was a bit on the sweet side, making it somewhat rich towards the end. Overall, the flavor was decent; it wasn't disappointing, but it didn't particularly impress either.

However, since PARCO CITY has a large area with floor-to-ceiling windows, if you choose a window seat, you can enjoy the view of the sea in Okinawa while you eat, which adds a few extra points to the overall experience. The ambiance definitely enhances the meal, making it more relaxed and enjoyable.

In summary, Toritotama can be considered a stable and conservative Japanese set meal restaurant. If you want a simple Japanese meal with a guarantee of quality and no risks, this place is worth considering.
