The puff shop offers a variety of innovative flavors, such as golden sugar original and passion fruit delight. The puff pastry is crispy, and the filling is rich with a moderate level of sweetness, leaving a lasting impression. The soy milk flavor is refreshing, while the cocoa milk flavor, although ordinary, is delicious.
Located near the Kaohsiung MRT Cultural Center, the store attracts a large crowd, creating a lively atmosphere that appeals to many dessert lovers.
The layout of the store is smooth, and although there are many people, the wait time is not long.
【Foodholic Nako @ Kaohsiung】
"Guessing Heart Puffs" is located in the Lingya District of Kaohsiung, and the nearest MRT station is Cultural Center Station. This puff shop seems to have been on my list for a long time after seeing other people's food reviews, so I took the opportunity to visit while I was back in Kaohsiung for some errands nearby.
Surprisingly, there were still quite a few people in line around 4 PM on a Friday, indicating its popularity. First, I queued on the left to order, and after ordering, I went to the right to pick up my food (I embarrassingly queued at the wrong place at first, haha).
Although there were about ten people ahead of me, the actual time from starting to queue to receiving my order was less than five minutes, which I found quite acceptable.
They have different flavors every day; today’s offerings included original, cocoa milk, passion fruit mix, and today’s hidden edition: various berry delights.
I bought everything except for the passion fruit mix because it sounded a bit scary to me, but then I noticed that a lot of other customers were buying that flavor.
The original puff is actually a soy milk flavor. I found the soy milk aroma quite strong, but it’s not overly sweet; it's a refreshing taste.
As for the cocoa milk... well, it’s just chocolate flavor. Honestly, it's just chocolate with nothing particularly special about it, but I still found it tasty.
When I first saw the colorful "various berry delights," I thought it was blueberry, but it tasted a bit like cranberry. It might be a mix of blueberry and cranberry, plus there’s a hint of yogurt flavor. The kids at home inexplicably really liked it, and I even found some dried cranberries in it.
Overall, considering each puff costs about 60-70 NT dollars, I think the taste is decent, but nothing too special. If you happen to be passing by and want a snack, you might consider buying it, but I wouldn't make a special trip just for it.

Located near the Kaohsiung MRT Culture Center, this shop has been around for a super long time! I've known that this place tends to be crowded for a while, and this time I visited on a weekday when it wasn't that crazy (I've heard that on weekends, the line starts forming by 2:30 PM for a 3 PM opening). The name "Guessing Heart Puff" probably has a reason: you only find out that day's filling when you visit. 😆
▪️Golden Sugar Original Flavor $60
I took this one back to the guesthouse to cool it in the fridge before enjoying it, which made the crispy sugar texture more pronounced. The shell was a bit softer compared to eating it on-site, but not in a soggy way. Their original flavor tastes like soy milk, and the filling itself is not very sweet, complemented nicely by the sugar grains on the outer shell!
▪️Passion Fruit Puff $60
This one was eaten right after receiving it on-site. The puff shell was super crunchy, almost to the point of being like a cookie. You could taste the passion fruit in the filling, and the "多多" (DuoDuo) aspect gives it a yogurt-like feeling, which is really refreshing. At that moment, I was already a bit full, but after finishing it, it really whetted my appetite.
▪️Small Cone Puff $60
A friend had let me try this one before. Simply put, it's the idea of a puff cookie with no filling. I love how big the sugar grains are; they make it a delightful bite.
Besides the two flavors I bought that day, there was also a matcha milk flavor, but since I had already eaten other matcha in the afternoon, I didn't buy it. Also, there’s a Mini Guessing Heart which seems to come boxed with four pieces. That day, the flavors were matcha milk and cocoa milk; I only found out about the Mini version that day, thinking there were only the larger ones!
Overall, I loved the flavors I tried this time!!! (Although I haven’t tried others) Moreover, there’s a different feeling when enjoying the puff shell fresh on-site versus after refrigeration, and both are quite nice! The puffs themselves are also quite large, filled generously with no hollow spaces, making it a place I definitely want to return to buy from when I'm in the area again.
This place has the most memorable and crispiest puffs I've ever eaten.
When you take a bite right after picking it up, you'll hear an incredibly crunchy sound.
If you prefer soft shells, you can put them in the fridge at home and enjoy later.
You can decide for yourself whether you want to eat them soft or crispy.
The filling is generous—by the end, the bag is bursting with it (if you don’t get any on you, it really is impressive!).
Right now, my favorite flavor is banana milk; if you love bananas, you should definitely try it. I also highly recommend the strawberry sweetheart, though it’s a bit sweeter.
If you prefer less sweetness, you can buy their signature—golden sugar original flavor.
It tastes just like soy milk.
Additionally, although the mini cream puffs are just empty shells without filling, each one is crispy and addictive. You can’t stop at just one; it won’t take long before they’re all gone 🤣 I recommend everyone visiting Kaohsiung to pay a visit!
