Located in the Jinsha settlement on Matsu's Nangan Island, Jinsha Small Restaurant is a cozy little eatery infused with the scent of the sea and the warmth of home. This time, we ordered red yeast rice fried rice, stir-fried clams, pan-fried yellow croaker, and blanched cuttlefish.

The red yeast rice fried rice comes to the table with a rosy color, and the aroma of red yeast is light and not heavy, making it non-greasy. The rice grains are distinct and fragrant, mixed with eggs and a bit of green onion, making it very representative of the local flavor.

The stir-fried clams are bursting with garlicky goodness, and as the juices are released, you can't help but keep helping yourself to more. The clams are full of fresh flavor, savory and delicious, making it perfect for rice or beer. The pan-fried yellow croaker is the most simple yet likable dish on the table; its skin is slightly crispy, the fish meat is delicate and fishy-free, with a noticeable ocean aroma, and it's already delicious with just a simple seasoning.

The blanched cuttlefish showcases the natural flavor of seafood, with no excessive processing, simply blanched in hot water and paired with a bit of sauce, highlighting the natural sweetness and chewiness of the seafood. The cuttlefish is bouncy and fresh.

Overall, Jinsha Small Restaurant does not feel like a fancy high-end restaurant, but rather resembles a local coastal kitchen. The dishes are not overly elaborate, but they are solid and made with genuine ingredients. I highly recommend everyone to come and eat here.
