"Hao Hao Black Wheel Stall" is located beside Qingyun Temple, outside the traditional market on Fuguo Road in Zuoying New Zhong Street. The owner is a sincere and friendly young man who is dedicated to every snack he serves.
They sell classic Taiwanese soul snacks:
stinky tofu, big sausage, handmade black wheel slices, pig's blood soup, and black wheel soup—all available!
The dish I order most often is the stinky tofu (large portion for 65 TWD). You can choose to have it crispier or softer; I personally recommend "crispier"—the outer skin is crispy and the inside is tender, absolutely satisfying! Paired with their mildly spicy pickled vegetables, it's salty and flavorful without being overwhelming, making the overall combination very layered.
Although this place won't leave you in awe with your first bite, it's the kind of old friend vibe that makes you think "I should get this" as you walk by. Moreover, if you want to eat stinky tofu in this area, this is the only stall! The only one nearby!
