Braces person's review: Independent restroom, very good.
This restaurant has been on my list for a long time. I took the opportunity to try it out while celebrating a family birthday. They have a fully reservation-based, no-menu dining experience, available only during lunch hours from 12:00 to 14:30. A set meal costs $1380 (no service fee) with a deposit of $500 required in advance. It includes two appetizers, soup, two main dishes, dessert, and drinks. When making a reservation, they ask about any ingredients you do not eat.
On the day of dining, it was just our group, so it felt like a private event 😂. The first drink served was a sweet sparkling wine. Then we were treated to a dish of green mango with a tangy sweet flavor. There was also a smoked salmon bread that I didn’t take a photo of. Next was the appetizer: octopus salad with orange juice dressing, which had a nice flavor, but the octopus was a bit tough to chew. Another appetizer was duck breast Caesar salad; the duck paired well with the lettuce and Caesar dressing, and I liked the croutons in it.
For soup, we had taro and winter melon soup. The first sip had a wonderful aroma of taro and winter melon, and the seasoning was just right; it was delicious. For the main dish, we had slow-cooked smoked beef, prepared sous vide. It was so tender that the fork broke it apart effortlessly—hardly needed a knife. It was soft and easy to eat, especially with the sauce on the side. After finishing a piece, I wanted another 😂.
Next was the squid ink pasta with baby cuttlefish; it was my first time trying rice-shaped pasta, and the texture was quite unique. Finally, for dessert, we had a fruit panna cotta, and the drink was a nice latte.
I would definitely like to return next time; you can taste the chef's dedication.
