This should be the light of Kaohsiung steak, right? 🤣 The prices are friendly, but the quality is still maintained at a good level, and they serve beef soup before the meal. They only operate on weekdays and you must call to make a reservation, otherwise there’s a high chance you might be turned away!
The combination here is truly delightful, haha. From the photos, it looks like a high-end Western restaurant, but the decor is very down-to-earth. The background music is really elegant (it's the type of classical music with violin and piano), and the busy servers give off a vibe of "Where am I and who am I?" 🤣 However, I can feel the warmth of human connection here ><
The only downside is the speed of service. The servers looked super busy running up and down the whole time. It seemed like only one person was in charge of the second floor. From the time we finished our main course to the dessert drinks, there was about a half-hour gap. I saw some comments on Google with similar experiences, so I’d recommend reserving some extra time when you come; you definitely can’t be in a rush!
Aside from that, the food performance was great, with unique and thoughtful touches in desserts and drinks. The sauces are different from typical steak houses; they serve Worcestershire sauce and a special mustard sauce (which some people might not be used to). Of course, there's sea salt on the table for you to add as you like.
I recommend ordering the steak at medium doneness; there won’t be too much blood, and the doneness is just right (also the recommended doneness by the restaurant). It comes with sides and bread, so you won’t have any problem getting full.
Don’t miss the dessert after the meal; I highly recommend their affogato. 👍🏻 It offers a texture I've never experienced elsewhere—coffee poured over ice cream creates a thin crispy shell, and the coffee flavor isn’t too bitter. It pairs delicately with vanilla ice cream, with just the right level of sweetness.
