The burger selection is diverse, with the classic burger being substantial in size. The beef patty is juicy and aromatic, paired with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, creating a rich combination of flavors. Although the seasoning is not exceptional, the familiar taste is satisfying.
The restaurant has a simple and casual exterior, with a clean and tidy interior. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it suitable for travelers looking to change up their taste.
The serving time is a bit long, so patience is needed.
This hamburger restaurant has a simple exterior but exudes a casual atmosphere. The interior is not large, but it is clean and tidy.
This time, I ordered an American classic burger along with a cup of Sprite. When the burger was served, the portion was more substantial than I had imagined. The bread was toasted to a slight crispness, and inside was a thick beef patty, juicy and fragrant, complemented by fresh lettuce and tomatoes, creating a rich overall texture. Although the seasoning was not particularly special, that familiar taste is the charm of a classic burger. With a slice of cheese and a bit of sauce, the bite was quite satisfying and gave a sense of fullness. The cold, fizzy Sprite on the side balanced out the greasiness of the burger, making it especially refreshing to drink on a hot evening.
Overall, Island Burger does not have luxurious decor or stunning creativity, but it offers a hearty, satisfying, and familiar flavor. For travelers in Lanyu looking to switch up their taste for a moment, this place is a great choice.
Foodholic Niko @ Lanyu
"The Island Burger" is located in Dongqing village, just walk into the alley next to Dongqing village, and it’s quite eye-catching, very easy to find!
During the Qingming Festival holiday, Lanyu has a lot of visitors. However, since many restaurants are still on seasonal breaks, it really takes some effort to find a restaurant where you can eat without having to wait in line.
"The Island Burger" has enough space to accommodate about 20 people, and we were lucky enough to get seated without waiting; however, the food took a bit longer to come out, so everyone needs to be patient~
The burgers come in beef and pork varieties, and the sauce flavors are the same, including classic, old Mexican, peanut, berry, pickled, and flying fish roe.
I originally wanted to order the flying fish roe, but I don’t know if it’s because there aren’t many flying fish available at the moment (?), so the flying fish roe was already sold out.
I finally chose the special mixed berry hand-made pork burger for $280.
Although the price seems a bit high, it comes with a lot of fries and a drink. Personally, I think it’s quite worth it; I felt pretty full!
Let’s start with the drink. I chose lemon iced tea, and I initially thought it would be the ready-made kind, but it turned out to be made with real lemon juice and black tea, very genuine and tasty!
Next, the fries, which were crispy and delicious!!! I super love the fries from this shop!
Finally, here’s the burger itself, which is really cute just by looking at it, haha~
The bun was toasted quite well, and most importantly, the hand-made pork was juicy and tasty. The berry sauce was really special, and they gave a generous amount, pairing perfectly with the pork, sweet and tangy, quite delicious! Highly recommended!
