AI Spot Summary

The dishes are delicious and diverse. I recommend the shrimp paste series, Matsusaka pork, and stir-fried rice noodles. The coconut rice has a rich aroma but affects the fragrance of other dishes. The Vietnamese coffee tastes average, and the pomelo lychee ice is refreshing but not sweet.

The dining environment is relatively noisy, especially during Father's Day, but there are various table types available to choose from.

The service is quick and friendly, and the overall quality of service remains good.

When I think of Thai cuisine, the first place that comes to mind is Wachoeng‼️ I always leave feeling happy and satisfied every time I visit. For someone who loves Thai food and strong flavors, it's truly a delight.

Every time I come, I want to try something new since I’ve never had a bad experience here. This time I found out that the healthy red quinoa rice option was gone and replaced with coconut rice. As soon as I saw it, I ordered it (because it sounded so fragrant and tempting), but I still prefer the simple texture of plain white rice when I actually eat it. Although the coconut fragrance is delightful, it can overshadow the aromas of other dishes. I think coconut should be reserved for desserts instead!

Every visit, I must order the shrimp paste dishes, Matsusaka pork, appetizer salad, and stir-fried rice noodles (which I highly recommend!). I usually also order green curry chicken, but this time I specially tried the crispy curry coconut chicken wings. The crumbly bits go well with rice; the coconut flavor in the wings is subtle, but the meat is tender and juicy, with about six wings on a large plate.

I was also curious about the Vietnamese coffee, made with a special drip filter with condensed milk at the bottom. After stirring, you pour it out and enjoy. I didn’t taste anything particularly special; it just tasted like a latte with sugar. I'm not really used to it and it doesn’t pair well with the dishes, but it was nice to try once! It might be better to order it after the meal.

The new grapefruit lychee ice was something I expected to be sweet, but because it had lemon zest and plum powder added, the overall flavor is quite rich. The pineapple was well-cooked and delicious, so having a bowl after a meal is just as good as mochi.

Here are the prices for what we ordered:

  • Crispy Green Curry Coconut Chicken Wings $320
  • Shrimp Paste Kangkong $225
  • Thai Stir-Fried Rice Noodles $280
  • White Rice - Coconut Rice $48
  • Chef's Seafood Seasonal Salad $395
  • Golden Pineapple Grapefruit Lychee Ice $180
  • Chef's BBQ Matsusaka Pork $450
  • Shrimp Paste Green Beans $240
  • Iced Lemon Green Tea $130
  • Vietnamese Coffee (Iced) $99
  • Mochi (Iced) $120

This time we dined at Wenxin ShowTai, just in time for Father's Day, so there were more people, but we went around 1:30 PM (without a reservation) and still found a table. The overall space had a variety of table layouts. I felt it was a bit noisier compared to the Zhongyou branch and the front station ShowTai branch, and the comfort level was slightly lower. However, the speed of serving, service, and quality of the food were still very good!
