The fillet is tender and well-seasoned. The honey date ribs are somewhat tough and poorly seasoned. The flatfish with cabbage has a rich flavor, similar to Yilan-style braised pork, and the shiitake mushrooms are delicious. The braised pork has a good ratio of fat to lean meat, melting in your mouth, and is perfect with rice. The honey aloe vera is slightly sweet.
User review: It's a bit troublesome to walk outside to the restroom.
The Xinyea small gathering (at Global Chung Ho) is located inside the Global shopping mall. It is recommended to make a reservation by phone in advance. Parking is fairly convenient.
This time we ordered garlic filet (NT$480), special honey date ribs (NT$380), flat fish with cabbage (NT$280), Xinyea's house special braised pork (three pieces for NT$330), red glutinous rice (NT$25), and honey aloe vera (NT$120).
The filet has a tender texture and is easy to chew, and the seasoning is quite good. The honey date ribs are a bit tough and have a lot of sinew, making them harder to chew, and I didn't like the seasoning much. The flat fish with cabbage is very delicious, tasting like the western-style meat from Yilan, rich in flavor, and the shiitake mushrooms inside are really tasty. The braised pork has a perfect fat-to-lean ratio, the meat is tender, and the fatty part melts in your mouth, making it very appetizing. My friend thought the honey aloe vera was a bit too sweet.
