🎉 Popular Snack Near Taoyuan Train Station 🎉

🎉 Available Only on Weekdays, Not on Holidays 🎉

This affordable eatery located at Taoyuan Train Station is a nostalgic spot for many locals who have been enjoying it since childhood. 👍 With generous portions and reasonable prices, it’s a favorite among students. 😊

At Chen's Braised Pork Rice, long lines form during meal times. Although the owner works quickly, the crowd never ceases, and many choose to get takeout 😙 because it’s too crowded to fit inside the restaurant. 😆

Today, I specifically chose a time outside of peak dining hours to enjoy this delicious food. 👍 At two-thirty in the afternoon, the line was still spilling onto the street, but it was noticeably shorter compared to regular meal times. We waited about ten minutes to get a seat, and the menu is simple, featuring traditional snacks, so we ordered a few common side dishes along with the main meals to taste. 👏

Chicken Rice:

When it arrived, I noticed, hey 🤔 their chicken rice comes with braised sauce! 😆 It immediately upgraded to chicken braised rice! 🤩 The shredded chicken is not overly dry, and the portion is generous—unlike some places where it seems like a few shreds accidentally fell in. 😆 With the addition of dried plums, it’s full of old-school flavor. 👏

Dry Yellow Noodles:

Whoa—when this came to the table, not only was it piled high with braised sauce, but the amount of noodles was basically a small mountain. 😳 This serving size is outrageous! Underneath is also covered with bean sprouts, clearly resembling a Taiwanese-style dry noodle dish. 😆 Finishing this wouldn’t just fill you up; it would leave you stuffed! 😆 The braised sauce is on the leaner side, which is great for those who don’t like fatty meat. 😚 However, the sauce is sweet, so it would be even better if it were a bit saltier. 🙂

Side Dishes:

The liver seems to be braised and has a flavor that enhances it compared to the usual steamed slices; I actually think it’s tastier. The fried tofu is also quite good, especially with the traditional spicy soy sauce, it pairs perfectly. 🫡

In summary:

Traditional snacks always win hearts. 👍 But during meal times, the crowds are overwhelming. The restaurant is not large, so everyone shares tables to enjoy the flavors, and thankfully, there’s air conditioning to help us cool off; it's not too scorching in the summer while eating, so we won’t be sweating excessively. 😆 There are plenty of parking lots nearby, so it's not recommended to park in front, where there are red lines and sidewalks. 😊
