Today I arrived at Cambridge University City to see the beautiful Cambridge University. I found this very famous afternoon tea place online. Fortunately, as soon as I walked in, there was a table available, and I didn’t have to wait in line at all. Happiness is so sudden and simple.

🌟 Chelsea bun French toast
Upon searching online, I saw that their most famous item is the cinnamon roll. I came in planning to have lunch, so I wanted something filling. Seeing how the cinnamon roll is served as French toast really excited me, so I decided to go for it. Once the dish arrived, the bacon was super crispy American-style bacon. One bite, and it was perfectly crunchy. The smoky flavor lingered in the mouth. The cinnamon roll combined with the French toast cooking method gave the original cinnamon roll a moist texture. Inside the cinnamon roll, aside from the abundant cinnamon aroma, there were also raisins to enhance the flavor. There were three big pieces in total, which made it a bit sweet towards the end. (No wonder all the foreigners pair it with tea or coffee; I ended up drinking a lot of water myself. 🤣😂)

🌟 The vegetarian breakfast
This was what my sister ordered. It had chickpeas, which Europeans love. It was my first time trying them, and they tasted a bit like potatoes. The flavor wasn't too weird, and I could accept it. The hash browns were very delicious! The toast was a bit hard (but European bread tends to be on the harder side), which I could accept.

🌟 The diner breakfast
This was what my boyfriend ordered. This plate is definitely for someone who needs to feel full. It had not only hash browns and pancakes but also bread—a complete carbohydrate combination. It was very filling, perfect for someone who gets hungry easily. The eggs were also cooked very deliciously, while the pancakes had a bit of char, which gave it a slightly bitter taste that I didn’t particularly like. The sausages and bacon were also very tasty, but overall, it was very filling and delicious.

🌟 Shakshuka
This was the toast served with the tomato stew and eggs. Basically, the toast tasted pretty much the same as everyone else's, just with a hard texture. The tomato stew with eggs was quite fragrant, and the tomato flavor was strong, but it lacked distinctiveness and a memorable aspect, which was a bit disappointing. It seems like Taiwan has similar items available.

Overall, I really liked this restaurant. The atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff contributed to this. Furthermore, despite our limited English, the staff was very willing to share and recommend dishes. The service was incredibly friendly and adorable. Eating here, you can feel the staff enjoying their work and passing their happiness onto us, which made me very happy. Because of this service, I would say this is a must-visit restaurant in Cambridge.
