The skin of the meatball is chewy and firm, with a moderately balanced but slightly sparse salty-sweet sauce. The filling has a small amount of meat and more bamboo shoots. The intestine soup is noticeably sweet but has a fishy taste.
The restaurant's indoor environment is comfortable and suitable for dining, and the exterior looks good, giving a friendly impression.
The staff's attitude is friendly, but you should be cautious during checkout as there might be cases of incorrect change being given.
# Open During the New Year
We are open during the New Year! Our hours are the same as usual.
There are really many options on Meatball Street at Zhonghua Road in Beidou. I've eaten at this place, "Beidou Meatball Rui," a few times. Overall, the taste is quite good, but there are some small details to note. First, their meatballs have a firmer texture; they are not very soft and mushy, and they have a nice chewy bounce. The sauce is well-seasoned with a good balance of salty and sweet, but the amount of sauce given by the shop is a bit small. If you prefer a stronger flavor, it’s advisable to ask the store for extra sauce.
As for the filling, I find it a bit ordinary. The amount of meat is relatively small, and there's actually more bamboo shoots than meat. Compared to other meatballs with very generous fillings, this one is indeed on the lighter side. Next, I ordered the sausage soup, which contains barley and small intestines. The sweetness of the broth is quite noticeable, but the sausages have a slight fishy taste, which I think could be improved.
Also, be a little careful when checking out. I have encountered situations where the shop mistakenly charged me the wrong amount. Although it wasn't much, it was a bit awkward, so it's best to pay attention yourself.
Overall, the taste at "Beidou Meatball Rui" is pretty good. If you happen to pass by, you can give it a try, but there are also plenty of other meatball shops on this street. If you prefer a meatier or more robust broth, there may be better options available.
Shared by Beidou Meatball Shop. Since I came here to eat right after eating the meatballs, I could compare the two!
Meatballs - two for a portion - 50 - The skin is relatively soft, the temperature of the skin is hot, the sauce is thin, the meat inside is lean, the small ball has a Chinese medicinal flavor, and the bamboo shoots are crispy and hard. But overall it's full of oil, and I personally don't like it that much. If I compare the two, I prefer the meatballs to be a bit rawer.
