The flavor of the pork chop and curry is quite ordinary, with a strong taste of lard, making it hard to recommend. Although the salad and accompanying soup performed better, the overall experience did not meet expectations.
Tony’s Food Pork Chop
No. 9, Alley 82, Gangqian Road, Neihu District, Taipei City 114
10-minute walk from Gangqian Station
This is a restaurant that sells pork chops, but the pork chops are not tasty.
The best dishes are probably the salad and the soup that comes with it.
With a Google rating of 4.9 so high, I sometimes wonder if it's because the clientele, being engineers from Neihu and Hsinchu, have similar tastes.
Plum Blossom Curry Pork Chop Rice 450
Plum Blossom Pork Chop Rice 395
The curry is nothing special, just very ordinary.
The pork chop also has a strong taste of lard, which I do not recommend at all.
For a restaurant with prices nearing 2000 yen, this performance is truly disappointing.
Even with the same plum blossom pork, at Tonkatsu Hinata in Takadanobaba, they manage to handle the oiliness perfectly.
For the same 2000 yen price, the restaurants in Taiwan really feel not worth it.
If you want a good cost-performance ratio, there's no need to mention Tonkatsu Itsugyo near Otsuka Station.
If you're looking for something cheap and happy to eat, nothing beats the Ten Alley at Qingguang Market.
And if you're looking for high-end, you'll never beat the Japanese pork chop restaurants.
I actually have a lot of doubts about the market positioning of this restaurant.
It’s a place I won’t be returning to.
