The brand "Kebuke" has already secured a place in the hand-shaken beverage scene, featuring vintage-style packaging and aged tea drinks, taking a minimalist approach appealing to the artistic youth. However, the quality of drinks at different branches can vary significantly, and one often has to rely on luck. But today, the cup I had truly reflected the standard that the brand should embody.
I chose the seasonal limited drink "Spring Bud Cold Dew." This drink is based on green tea and incorporates a nostalgic winter melon syrup, perfectly balancing the ratio of tea and sweetness. Many winter melon teas tend to be overly sweet and cloying, but this cup successfully mitigates the heaviness of the winter melon with the refreshing taste of green tea, allowing the flavor of the winter melon to shine through, fragrant and nuanced, yet not overly sweet.
The tea itself is clear and clean, neither bitter nor astringent, with a solid tea base that blends well with the natural sweetness of the winter melon, creating a well-balanced overall flavor. Particularly, the ice level is just right, and the sweetness is well-controlled, making it very refreshing—perfect for hot weather. The "presence" of winter melon is not superficial but offers a rich texture that comes from a long brewing process rather than artificially flavored syrup, which is a significant plus.
Overall, "Spring Bud Cold Dew" is a well-balanced tea drink that preserves the nostalgic flavor of winter melon while highlighting the layered aroma of green tea, making it a reliable choice that you'll want to buy again after finishing. Although Kebuke's quality can sometimes be unstable, today's performance of this cup has restored some confidence and fondness towards the brand. If you haven't tried this drink yet, perhaps you could pick a familiar branch with more consistent quality, so that "Spring Bud Cold Dew" can quench your thirst and cleanse your palate this summer!
