Because I once saw a TV program that reported on this snack, I had some expectations for it. Of course, perhaps my expectations were too high, which led to a greater sense of disappointment 🙂‍↔️.

📝 The small shop has a simple pricing system: $40 for one skewer, $150 for four skewers. The owner keeps recommending whether to buy four skewers, but having already eaten a proper meal, we couldn’t eat that much.

Each skewer is quite large, and it is really tempting when choosing them, but that excitement faded before we even had a bite.

This time we ordered cuttlefish balls and shrimp rolls. The cuttlefish balls looked quite big, with four pieces on a skewer; the shrimp roll was a long strip. The fried skin wasn’t thick, it was relatively thin, but… the skin wasn't crispy. Yes, I'm extremely disappointed.

The fried skin wasn’t thick, and even after being double-fried, it was still not crispy. The color remained the same as when we chose it; it didn’t turn that golden color you expect from fried food after being cooked a second time.
The filling was even more disheartening. The cuttlefish balls looked large, but most of what I tasted was fish paste. Fish paste is quite fragrant, that's true, but there was little cuttlefish. Saying it's fried cuttlefish balls might be more accurate if you called it fried fish balls. This creates a huge disparity for me since I thought I was eating seafood by the sea. The shrimp rolls were not much better; I could hardly taste the shrimp at all, perhaps it was all mixed into the paste. It felt like I was just eating a piece of fried fish paste snack.

I was genuinely very sad eating this, and I don't think I will want to come back again next time.

Side dish options
Tabletop meal options
Crispy shrimp roll (But I think it's not really crispy) It looks like the re-fried is more like reheating...
Premium Squid Balls (Didn't eat much squid)
Booth Overview There might be a TV introduction, and there are quite a few people.
The family came to try it out after seeing this program during the television interview.
The meal prep area is small, basically just a place for frying things again.
Billing method
There's also ice for sale inside, but since it's winter, I didn't try any. There’s also mullet roe placed aside.

A bit disappointing. The idea is good, but most of the food in different stalls (tested 3) is pretty average and oily. Nothing else to do inside. But nice picnic table to spend some time with friends. Prices are ok.

Genuine food enthusiasts know that it’s not always about set menus & ostentatious wine pairings. Occasionally, we just wanna head out without a fuss, throw on a pair of preppy shorts for a snacky bowl of old town’s sweet juicy roasted pork, crabmeat & wontons noodle in rich chx broth & a icy c0oL cup of fresh aromatic banana mixed berries cold-pressed juice. It’s often the hearty, casual & simple meals that bring out the true scrumptious taste of Thai. For any ‘anytime, anywhere’ occasions, we’d recommend expats, tourists or even locals to gather in this Bangkok’s top street food court. Sometimes, there’s nothing better than quasi-street eats (with air conditioning, ofc, heheehh). Here, we roam around the Bangkok’s signature food court for the city’s most ordinary yet eXtraordinarily delectable drinks & noodles feasts. nom nom nom + affordable + ample aircon + vibrant vibes + fast + plenty of comfy seats + exotic background music + bromantic sexy lightings + noisy atmosphere all around u like dining in an overcrowded concrete jungle with all the unknown mythical creatures from all over the universe speaking in their languages = fun fun fun 🥰✌🏻
