"TAJ Indian Restaurant" offers authentic North Indian cuisine. The owner is Pakistani, and all the chefs have been invited from India to Taiwan. It is a restaurant certified halal.

Located near Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, it takes about a 6-minute walk from Exit 5. The exterior features large fluorescent green lettering, making it quite eye-catching, and the interior decor has a strong Indian vibe, with Indian music playing.

On Friday around 6:30 PM, the restaurant was nearly full. If you plan to dine here, it's highly recommended to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Tandoori Bread
We ordered three flavors: plain $65, butter $70, and garlic $80. Each serving comes with four pieces, which are perfect for dipping in curry. The plain one is quite tasty, but my favorite is the garlic one, which has a strong garlic aroma. It's best enjoyed hot.

Indian Curry Dumplings (2 pieces) $100
Quite large in size, the outer skin is fried to the point of being a bit hard and requires some effort to eat. The filling is packed with mashed potatoes and some vegetables (I saw green peas). It's quite heavy, and I recommend dipping it in ketchup to balance the richness; I probably wouldn’t order this again.

Taj Red Yogurt Grilled Chicken (half serving/4 pieces) $300
This dish is the signature item, and having tried it, I understand why. Although the price is a bit high, it's well worth it. Although it looks very red, it's not overly spicy, and the seasoning is excellent. The chicken is tender and retains its juices.

Bell Pepper Spiced Curry Chicken $350
It contains green and sweet peppers, but I feel the pepper flavor isn't too strong. The dominant flavor is the spiced curry, which is mildly spicy. The chicken is in large pieces and remains tender; this dish is delicious and worth ordering.

Yogurt Curry Cheese Balls $320
The curry flavor has a hint of sweetness. The cheese balls are different from what I expected; I thought they would be cheese balls, but they resemble something like mashed potatoes mixed with vegetable puree, which I didn’t particularly like. The curry itself isn’t heavily salted, so I wouldn't order this again.

Spinach Curry Lamb $350
This was my favorite among the three curries today. I generally don’t like spinach, but this spinach curry is incredibly delicious. It doesn’t have a strong vegetable taste, and the lamb is tender and doesn't have a strong gamey flavor. It’s great whether dipped in bread or served with rice.

Indian Milk Tea (Iced) $100
This was my favorite today! The milk and tea flavors blend perfectly, with neither overpowering the other. It has a rich and creamy taste, and for a large cup at $100, it's far superior to the milk tea served in many cafés.

Sweet Lassi (Yogurt Drink) $110
This was ordered by a friend, and I took a sip. It tastes like yogurt but is also infused with a strong spice flavor. Personally, I didn't enjoy it; the traditional milk tea is more to my taste.

位於市民大道四段旁的《Taj 泰姬印度餐廳》,是一間在台北鬧區中靜靜綻放異國風味的好店,從捷運忠孝復興站步行約十分鐘即可抵達,外觀低調但一踏入店內就能感受到濃濃的印度氣息:色彩飽和的布幔、手繪風格的牆飾,以及香料混合的空氣,彷彿瞬間走入了孟買或齋浦爾的街頭🇮🇳 店內空間寬敞舒適,座位間距也很夠,不擁擠,非常適合中午與朋友聚餐或是一人靜靜享用一頓異國料理。這次選擇了平日的商業午餐組合,價格實惠、內容豐富,是初訪者認識這家店的好起點~ 這次點了2款套餐(皆附上黃扁豆咖哩、沙拉、白飯、原味碳烤餅與印式甜點) D套餐《風味咖哩雞》 雞肉咖哩醬汁香氣飽滿,濃而不膩,雞肉燉得入味又不柴,搭配白飯或餅都相當適合 E套餐《風味咖哩羊》 羊肉咖哩更是一絕,羊肉軟嫩無腥味,咖哩帶有溫潤香氣,口味濃郁卻不厚重,是那種吃完會回味、下次還會想再點的等級。跟D套餐的差別是附加的綜合蔬菜咖哩,略為平淡,有點像茄汁燉蔬菜,個人覺得可以略過不影響整體享受~ 附餐的《印式甜點》 類似奶黃西米露,甜度適中,有種淡淡奶香與香料氣息,作為餐後的完美收尾 值得特別一提的《蒜泥碳烤餅》 餅皮烤得香酥有嚼勁,邊緣微焦,表面鋪滿蒜末,搭配任何咖哩都能瞬間升級美味層次,建議不要錯過,可以點看看喔! 飲品《印度奶茶》 完全超出期待。原本以為會是甜膩版本,但實際上茶味濃郁順口,香料層層堆疊——有肉桂、丁香與豆蔻的香氣,但比例掌握得很好,不會過重,非常耐喝! 《甜味優酪乳》 略顯普通,偏稀、甜味較淡,比較適合搭配辣味重的主餐作為解膩小品,單喝的話風味稍嫌平淡,比較推薦奶茶🧋 整體而言,Taj泰姬的商業午餐不只份量充足、味道到位,還非常友善新手,價格與品質成正比,是在地難得的高CP異國餐廳🥰 小補充:吃完兩人皆感「順暢」無比,也許是香料與優酪乳的奇妙搭配使然?在印度優酪乳也稱為拉西Lassi ,吃完真的拉了哈哈哈哈(這是稱讚👍🏻)總結一句,想在東區附近品嚐道地印度風味,又不想太傷荷包(是商業午餐時段喔)Taj泰姬絕對值得列入名單!
