Mister Donut 中友門市

I always feel that Mister Donut is a mochi shop that has been delayed by donuts 🍡. Every time I come, I don't necessarily have to buy donuts, but I will definitely take home a few sticks of mochi𐔌՞ ܸ.ˬ.ܸ？𐦯.

This time I visited the branch located in the food court on the second basement floor of the Zhongyou Department Store. There’s one table for four people inside, and the donut display case is quite spacious. If you don’t walk to the checkout counter, you can barely see inside (it’s just that big).

There are many varieties that definitely make it hard to choose 😝.

I highly recommend:
✐ Japanese-style soy sauce mochi for 48 NTD

• The balance of sweetness and saltiness in the sauce is perfect, and its thickness is just right. Not to mention the texture of the mochi itself, which is chewy but not too soft. If you're afraid of being disappointed by limited flavors, opting for the basic version is a safe choice! Every time I buy them, I regret not getting enough. Next time, I’ll definitely get a few more.

✐ Honey matcha mochi for 60 NTD
(Mister Donut x Ito En, available from March 19)

• This is a recent collaboration. The matcha has a bittersweet flavor, but I feel it doesn't pair well with this thick sauce, and there’s a sense of disparity when eating it. However, as for the mochi itself, its texture is really good.

✐ Rich brown sugar boba for 50 NTD
(Mister Donut x Chen Zhu Dan, available from February 18)

• It looks super delicious, but the actual flavor is quite bland. It really feels like eating pearl milk tea, but the taste leaves you feeling empty. I wish the brown sugar aroma could be stronger.

Next are the classic choices; I just keep going back to these basics. However, it’s a pity that I couldn’t get my favorite yogurt flavor this time :( Yogurt is truly satisfying without being too rich 😌.

(Btw, I want to try the Choux series next time; the fluffy, bouncy exterior looks too tempting...)
