Kavalan Whisky Bar

When foreign friends come to Taiwan, I always hope to introduce them to some unique restaurants or bars. I think Kavalan whiskey 🥃 really represents Taiwan well. Plus, my friend is a whiskey expert, so I specifically made a reservation online. When we first walked in, the place had a very hidden vibe; we had to find a button on the wall that indicated it's from Taiwan to enter the bar!

I was very happy that the staff here were incredibly professional and could fluently introduce the various whiskeys in English, including the types, different years, and the methods of production. If interested, you can even go right next to the oak barrels, pour the whiskey into your glass, and enjoy it slowly!

Of course, if you’re not usually a whiskey lover, they also have some cocktails 🍸 that don’t contain whiskey, or special flavors made with whiskey, allowing you to choose according to your preference. Although I'm not particularly fond of whiskey, I still ordered a cocktail made with whiskey, and I personally think they did a great job. They perfectly captured the aroma of the whiskey without that overwhelming alcohol taste that I’m not used to, so overall it was very well balanced and delicious. Additionally, their food is quite diverse, featuring very Taiwanese salt and crispy chicken as well as American-style truffle fries 🍟.

Overall, I think the dining environment here is quite nice, and my friend had a very enjoyable experience. It’s a quiet and comfortable bar for a good chat! I highly recommend it to everyone!
