Da Bo Dou Hua originally started as a street vendor and later transformed into a stylish venue with a literary vibe, yet it still retains the essence of traditional desserts. The shop specializes in classic tofu pudding and shaved ice.
This time, I ordered the classic traditional tofu pudding, with a choice of ingredients. The tofu pudding is delicate and smooth, melting in your mouth with a natural bean aroma that is not overpowering. The syrup is sweet but not cloying, keeping the overall flavor refreshing. There is a diverse selection of toppings, ranging from tapioca pearls to glutinous rice balls, with moderate portion sizes that leave you feeling satisfied after finishing.
In terms of environment, the shop employs wooden design elements, creating a warm atmosphere reminiscent of a serene Japanese-style small shop. The storefront is much more eye-catching than it used to be.
Overall, Da Bo Dou Hua has the right balance of texture in the tofu pudding and sweetness in the syrup, with rich and handmade ingredients. The minimalist and delicate atmosphere combined with reasonably acceptable prices makes this place an ideal choice for cooled desserts for all ages. If you prefer traditional flavors while appreciating ambiance and quality, it’s worth a visit to experience.
