"😨I didn't expect that these days, there are people who are really big bowlers."
This was the first thing that came to my mind after getting the meal.

There are many cheap noodle stalls on the roadside. In the past, just ordering a small bowl would fill you up.
But now the prices are not only high, but the noodles have also shrunk. I usually order a big bowl and sometimes add some side dishes. It is rare for me to order a big bowl that I "regret because of the large portion."

📌Coordinates: Taichung Lecheng Palace, within 10 minutes’ walk

It is only open in the evening and is decorated like an outdoor coffee/bar. It has the feeling of a resident singer, but it is just a stall selling mainly stinky tofu.

This restaurant sells wet stinky tofu, not fried.
In addition to eating stinky tofu alone, you can also make it into chawanmushi, fried noodles, hot pot, etc.

What’s more amazing is…
The first time I saw a roadside noodle stall, there was a dedicated clerk.
Sitting high up the stairs, you have to look up to order.
(It feels like lining up to offer tribute to the emperor, which is quite subtle)
And "You can't order without finding the location first."
The relevant slogan was when it was my turn in the queue, I found it written on the A4 paper next to the menu😓. It was quite embarrassing. There were many people in line behind me. Fortunately, the number of people was small and I could sit at the same table with others.

This time I ordered 👉Stinky tofu noodle soup $90/large bowl
(The same comment will be left for later)

💁‍♀️The guests at the same table ordered steamed stinky tofu, stinky tofu chawanmushi and stinky tofu hot pot. By the way, I would like to share my thoughts on the food when listening to their conversation: (I did not include this part in my review)
Stinky tofu hot pot - a general hot pot with stinky tofu cooked in it. It is a small hot pot cooked with an alcohol lamp.
Stinky Tofu Chawanmushi - Chawanmushi made with stinky tofu water.
Steamed stinky tofu - A piece of wet steamed stinky tofu is usually served in a disposable paper bowl.

Overall, the noodles I ordered scored slightly higher (due to the large portion)
But other items, outdoor seating space, all self-service (including recycling), etc., I think are average, and it is a place I only come to when there is nothing else good to eat.
(PS. There really aren’t many formal meals nearby at Lecheng Palace at night)

Stinky tofu fried noodles $90/large bowl The noodle body is Q-bomb, and I feel like I put a lot of stinky tofu in it. It felt so filling all night long!
side view of bowl It’s a noodle bowl with big noodles but small depth. But the visual effect and actual weight when served still surprised me.
Put a pair of ordinary disposable chopsticks as a scale for comparison. In general noodle bowls, the disposable chopsticks will exceed the diameter of the bowl. This time, the disposable chopsticks were shorter than the diameter of the bowl.
The hot pot portion of the tablemate (for reference) At the same table were stinky tofu chawanmushi and steamed stinky tofu. But because it’s almost empty + the entity is not big, I’m sorry to borrow the photo. So I didn’t take any special photos.
environment map The customers in pink clothes and the customers in plaid skirts in front are at the place where you order food. Next to it is the kitchen, where the waiter sits and takes your order. There are two plastic bags in front of the kitchen, and there are shelves next to them. Tableware must be recycled by yourself. The tableware is also self-service and placed on the other side. Everything is self catering.
On the right is the menu On the left are the precautions (customer instructions) Only here is it written: If you are inside, please report your table number before ordering. The clerk’s response was the same: I couldn’t find a seat and couldn’t order. 😓As the name suggests, he is very overbearing.
