Seeing the name of this restaurant, I guessed that it specializes in pickled fish, and after glancing at the menu, my guess was confirmed.
This place offers two main dishes: the individual hot pot and Guilin rice noodles. If you like both, you can have them all—it's really a choice only a child would make.
Since I don't usually eat spicy food, many items weren't suitable for me. In the end, I chose the Northeast pickled cabbage Guilin rice noodles, which seems to be a recent addition.
The meal was prepared quickly, and I immediately took a bite of the Guilin rice noodles, which was quite bland. As I ate more, I realized that the broth itself had very little flavor; because the cabbage was really sour, the broth might only develop its sourness as the flavor from the cabbage gradually seeps in.
The Guilin rice noodles were similar; after eating for a while, the sourness of the cabbage seeped into the noodles.
To be honest, as I continued eating, it became really sour, so for those who enjoy sour flavors, it’s best to wait a bit before eating.
