📍I’ve passed by this place on Nanyang Street a few times, and each time I thought the decor looked like it was newly opened, yet I had never eaten here until now, when I finally came in to try it.
🍽️ Environment
There are about 10 tables inside, accommodating roughly 20 people. The kitchen is separated from the dining area, so the smell isn’t too strong. There are only two air conditioning units, and only the areas near the vents are cool; the rest is quite warm. The shop offers a free drink machine with Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Meili fruit drink, and it has now changed to 24-hour operation, closed on Sundays.

▪️ Braised Beef Noodles (Large) with Knife-cut Noodles $160
I ordered the basic beef noodles, and there were two types of noodles to choose from; this time I chose the wide noodles. When the dish arrived, the portion looked quite large, and it comes with green onions and pickled vegetables by default, but you need to specify on the menu if you don’t want them. There were about six or seven pieces of beef, coming from two parts; the shank part was acceptable, but the meat was a bit tough. The other part tasted like jerky and wasn’t very good, but fortunately, there were only one or two pieces of that 😅. As for the vegetables, I only saw the stems of water spinach, which was a bit disappointing. Since I chose knife-cut noodles, they were probably machine-cut; the noodles themselves were cooked soft enough, with a bit of chewiness, which was normal.
As for the broth, since pickled vegetables were added, it had a hint of their flavor. The braised broth was moderately salty, without any particularly distinctive taste, but it improved a bit after adding spicy beef oil.
😀 Overall, this is a normally performing beef noodle dish, the portion is considerable, and there’s a free beverage machine. With 24-hour operation, it’s definitely a place worth considering.
