Located in the basement of Songde Road, Modo Cafe is a comfortable and affordable café. Compared to the high-priced restaurants commonly found in the Xinyi District, this place feels very welcoming and budget-friendly.
The interior is extremely spacious, with plenty of seating available. Whether you're dining alone, gathering with friends, or bringing your computer to work, you can find a suitable corner. The environment is clean, the restroom is spacious and well-maintained, and the minimum order is just one drink. The drink prices are reasonable, making it quite cost-effective given the location. You can also get a 10 NTD discount by ordering a beverage along with any menu item, salad, or dessert.
The "Rose Salt Sous Vide Chicken Breast" commercial lunch features chicken breast that has been cooked sous vide at a low temperature, resulting in a tender and juicy texture that won’t be dry. The side dishes are thoughtfully paired, including bean sprouts, zucchini, tofu, dried tofu, and a half boiled egg, making it nutritionally balanced and colorful. The portion of rice is well-controlled, not excessive but sufficient to fill you up. The entire meal is priced at only 130 NTD, which offers great value in the Xinyi District.
For drinks, I chose the hot "South African National Treasure Tea," a caffeine-free tea that showcases a natural aroma when brewed without sugar. It is refreshing and has a mild, comforting flavor that pairs well with a light yet nutritious lunch. It’s an excellent choice for customers who want to avoid caffeine or prefer warm tea.
Modo Cafe relies not on extravagant decor or expensive meals but on a philosophy of "comfort, affordability, and practicality." Its spacious environment, reasonable pricing, and nutritionally balanced commercial lunch make it an ideal choice for office workers or local residents. If I had to be picky, I would say the dishes are primarily "simple and practical," lacking in glamour or refinement. However, given the price point and environment, it is certainly worth revisiting.
