My friends in Kaohsiung, please recommend me some delicious sour and spicy noodles 🥹
So far, I haven't had any impressive noodles in Kaohsiung.
Especially every time I want a late-night snack and I see food vloggers slurping up noodles on my phone... I really crave it...^^🍴⁰̷̴͈꒨⁰̷̴͈
This time, I'm eating at a place called Xiao Ping Aichuan located in Fengshan, known for their sour and spicy noodles.
Their business hours are from evening until midnight, which is a little comfort for those craving noodles.
I ordered:
✐ Mixed Flavor (a combination of sour and spicy noodles and duck blood pot) $100
· A bowl for a hundred is roughly considered a medium-low price.
It has slices of pork, duck blood, tofu, noodle strips, fried dough sticks, pickled vegetables, and scallions.
From the outside, it makes one look forward to exploring its flavor; it appears red and spicy, so it should be quite flavorful, right?
But ever since I took a sip of the soup that came with the dish, I felt something was off 🤧 It can be said to be nearly tasteless.
Nothing miraculous happened either.
The whole bowl has a sour taste, a hint of numbing pepper fragrance, and a bit of spiciness (I ordered medium spicy), but none of the flavors stand out. It just feels like something is missing.
The noodles are cooked just right; if you take a bite of noodles with a sip of soup together, it would be more flavorful.
The tofu and duck blood are large chunks but lack flavor.
In contrast, the taste of the pickled vegetables is more pronounced.
It's not particularly tasty, but it’s not inedible either, making it hard to decide how many stars to give it. However, considering the rating standard, it's definitely a place that comes to mind when I'm craving noodles but the shops are closed.
