💠 Qiu Shicheng Traditional Burned Grass Jelly

Hi everyone! I'm Wolf Wolf 🪽

The nights in Pingtung are slightly cool, making it the perfect time for a warm bowl of "burned grass jelly" that warms both the heart and the stomach! This shop, "Qiu Shicheng Traditional Burned Grass Jelly," is a small stall hidden next to a temple, without a flashy sign, yet it's beloved by many locals who have grown up eating here. Each bite is filled with the warmth of tradition.

🍵 Must-Try Signature Dish

🔸 Burned Grass Jelly (Small $35 / Hot) ♨️
This bowl of burned grass jelly has a broth that is meticulously cooked, with a subtle herbal aroma, smooth and not astringent. The thickness of the sauce is just right, making it smooth and not greasy, and you can feel the richness of the gelatin in every bite!
📌 Rich toppings: It’s served with soybeans, red beans, mung beans, and tapioca balls, creating an incredibly rich texture!
👉 The tapioca balls are QQ bouncy, soaking up the rich flavor of the burned grass jelly, with a slight sweetness when chewed.
👉 The soybeans, red beans, and mung beans have been simmered for a long time until soft and fluffy, each absorbing the sweetness of the burned grass jelly, adding different textures for a richer drinking experience!

🔸 Tender Grass Jelly (Large $60 / Cold) ❄️
This version is perfect for summer, served cold and without crushed ice; the grass jelly's texture is incredibly smooth and tender, nearly melting in your mouth! It’s softer and more delicate than regular tender grass jelly, and just a gentle nibble brings out its QQ smoothness.
📌 The benefit of not adding crushed ice: It doesn't dilute the flavor of the grass jelly, ensuring each bite has a rich grass jelly aroma.
📌 Loaded with toppings: Just like the burned grass jelly, it's paired with soybeans, red beans, mung beans, and tapioca balls, with just the right amount of sweetness that isn’t overly cloying.

Steamed bun
