Title: Student's Review - What to Eat
Located in the area between Gongguan and the Taipower Building, Masala House offers a spice-laden dining experience.
This time, I was fortunate to visit for lunch on a weekday, which means there were business lunch options available.
★ Meal Options
Vegetable curry with rice + $20 for red tea
Dry beef curry with rice + $20 for milk tea
If you want to switch to naan, it’s an additional $30.
But I ultimately chose Indian basmati rice because it has a relatively low glycemic index compared to regular rice. If you're looking for a carbohydrate option, basmati rice is a great choice.
★ Thoughts
For this price range, getting to enjoy Indian curry is fantastic, and I was extremely full; I couldn't even finish my rice.
However, I personally won’t order the dry curry again.
It felt very Taiwanese and didn’t match my expectations of what dry curry should be.
I imagined dry curry would taste more like Japanese dry curry, but the actual Indian dry curry tasted more like stir-fried beef with Indian curry powder.
My friend ordered the vegetable curry, and he said it was great and had authentic Indian curry flavor.
As for the milk tea, it had a spiced flavor, which I was very pleased with.
★ Waiting Time:
10 minutes.
On a weekday lunch, it was quite busy due to the business lunch crowd, and there was almost no seating available.
I recommend making a reservation in advance!
