Shuan Nai Ye is one of my favorite restaurants; I've dined here more than seven or eight times (Banqiao Far Eastern, Nangang, and this one). That day was the Mid-Autumn Festival, and there were a lot of people. We came to wait for a table before 5 PM and the business was booming.
We chose the simplest price range for the holiday period:
▪️$490 + 10%
· Domestic plum blossom pork, belly pork, chicken thigh meat
· All-you-can-eat buffet
· We chose Hokkaido Rishiri kelp soup as the broth
I've tried other price ranges a few times, and personally, I think the beef is just okay; the pork and chicken paired with the buffet items are quite delicious. All three types of meat are good, though the belly pork can sometimes be a bit fatty, but it’s not a big deal. Besides the basic sauces, I also like to pair them with sesame or their curry sauce while eating.
That day, I used points to exchange for a plate of eight clams (original price $50), which were quite fresh and plump when cooked.
As for the dishes, there is a wide variety, and the replenishment speed is quick. In the past, hot pot buffets weren't as popular, but whenever I suddenly crave a lot of vegetables, I come here.
The sauce area also has quite a few options, and the drink bar can satisfy both cold and hot beverages. The staple section has many noodle types; I always have to grab some udon noodles, which pair well with curry or the udon sauce.
Lastly, one must-try item here is their desserts. The standard comes with dual flavors (matcha/original) soft serve, warabi mochi, various toppings, and two types of small cakes that change in flavor every time. Then there's my favorite, the sesame pancakes—honestly, I can eat so many of them 😂 They're so good that I want to buy a whole box to take home (priced at $100). The red bean and purple rice soup is also a must-try; it's incredibly rich but not overly sweet! The desserts may be simple but are quite tasty.
Overall, I still really love this place. However, on this day, due to the large crowd, the food service felt a bit slower, and the table cleanliness was not as good (I rated it down from 4.5 to 4 stars). Nevertheless, I would definitely return infinitely. This is for your reference.
