🍚 Wok to Walk Damstraat
📍 Damstraat 44, 1012 GK Amsterdam, Netherlands
🕐 Monday to Wednesday 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM
🥢 After eating bread and cheese in Europe for several days, I finally got to enjoy a meal with more "Asian flavor." This place allows you to customize your main dish (noodles or rice), toppings, and choose a sauce, making it like a personalized stir-fry restaurant in a wok setting.
🔥 The chef cooks on-site, and the wok aroma is clearly evident; the sound of the spatula hitting the pan brings the fragrance. I ordered the Teriyaki Rice for €14.95 (about NT$530), which unexpectedly turned out to be extremely spicy🌶️. At first, the chef scooped a whole spoonful of chili and asked me, "Is this okay?" I was taken aback and immediately asked for a reduction; otherwise, I would have been overwhelmed by the spice. The flavor was strong, and the fried rice was well-separated.
🍋 Another dish, Pad Thai for €14.95 (about NT$530), leaned towards the sweet and sour side. The crushed peanuts combined with the aroma of lemon juice made it quite refreshing, but the common point was that they were all too oily! The oiliness brought a strong sense of exotic flavor.
💸 Overall, the flavors are on the heavier side. The portion sizes are okay, but the prices in Europe are truly astonishing—two bowls of glistening fried rice and noodles cost around a thousand NT dollars😅.
